Perhaps some freebies would help. Say every 100th (or however many) person into the parks gets something. Doesn't need to be anything big, just a token gift like a balloon, a button, a badge, a hat, etc.

If only they brought back the WDW Gift Giving Machine.

Honestly, I think I ran out of ideas real fast. and one other thing:

MyMagic+: Plan your vacation 6 months in advance!
Limited Time Magic: We don't announce it until 2 days before!

I have no clue what "Limited time magic" is. Is this something in the parks or an ad campaign?
It's that each week in the parks is based around a certain "theme". For example, one week will be long lost characters week, where old characters you can no longer find in the parks will be around for a week. The goal is to get people to the parks to see the limited time things, but it seems like Disneyland is getting all the good stuff

Yeah...I think the only thing WDW has gotten thus far are some characters that had to be brushed off from MNSSHP.

Hardly anything to write home about.

From the moment I'd read the concept it seemed like a cheap and lazy solution to me. i.e. We have no direction for the year, so we're going to make it up as we go and incorporate cliche things since that's cheap and easy. I mean, take the rare characters that were out a few weeks ago...while it was cool to see the retired characters...what a nothing way to incorporate a theme. I mean realy, let's take character costumes we already have and put them out in the park for a little while and pretend that it's something creative, glorious and new. I've seen lazy children put forth more effort and creativity with less. Sorry- just thought this was not just lacking anything impressive but kind of a joke in cheapness.

If the characters were recently used in the Halloween Parties then they aren't really retired... are they?
Pigs, Ludwig, Robin, Friar, and Prince John were kind of rare. Sheriff & Big Bad Wolf are Halloween parade only, the rest weren't rare or retired

For those who have visited since this started, is it well promoted once you're on property? If you just showed up for a day and went to EPCOT, would you be aware of a LTM magic event in MK? Just asking, because there is the chance it would be a LTM event a guest would be interested in. Nothing worse than coming home and finding out you missed something several weeks later.

I voted for "Horrible Execution", but only because that's the best answer that's close to mine. I think that it was a good idea, but it wasn't a "horrible", just not good as I thought it would be. If it were horrible, during Long Lost Friends Week we'd only be seeing Mickey and Minnie and all the characters we'd normally see, and not ones that rarely appear.

I do not like the slogan at all! "Limited Time Magic"
It sorta sounds like everything is limited in life, I don't like it. They could have done better!

I see it as something more for the locals. They get some different events, but it's not something I'd travel across the country for. I'm just as happy to go at a time that's more convenient for me. The name of it is awful; it implies that the magic isn't around all of the time.

Most of us won't drive 20 minutes for what they have offered....it's that sad...

By the way, how long has WDW been doing a different Parks (grammar? I don't want to start something again!) theme each year? I don't really remember it until recent years.

It got me to book an extra trip for Long Lost Friends Week, i wasn't planning on going, I also have moved my reservation up in September one day to go to the Villans Party at HS, so i would have to say it has had an effect on me...realistically I don't think they can do something big everyweek, but if they do one a month, then i would think it could be successful.

The "Magic" in any Disney park is never "Limited"... the collective atmosphere and attitude of all employees of the parks has been and should continue being that the Magic is always there and can be created anytime and anywhere, even by the simple act of holding the hand of a lost child. Wrong attitude by Disney to package "the magic" and give the impression that it is limited. What are they going to next, sell bottles for $20 with colored water and labels that say "Instant Imagination Juice"?
