I wonder if because of the specific talent involved - they have to take vacations together. Maybe they are told when to take off, like Cirque...

A 4 day refurb?? A short vacation for the drivers/crew lol. Since it is one of my favorite shows in WDW, I'm glad it'll be back up and running when I go next month!

Funny, I have never done this before, and I was just thinking I should check it out when I am there next week, oh well, I guess that means if it goes away I won't miss it very much :)

Could it be for repaving?

Based on a rumor that DHS is going to build a new CARSLAND, I would guess they are using the time to survey the land and space without ruining the MAGIC and avoiding awkward questions in order to have data to develop building plans.

I enjoy LMA and always try to catch it. I suspect that a show like this requires periodic maintenance for safety reasons (keep the road surface smooth, overhaul the car engines, etc.), so it certainly doesn't surprise me to see this happening. I also suspect that a short period of downtime like this wouldn't cost much (cast needs vacations anyways) and it would therefore be appropriate even if the show was only expected to be around another year or so. And we all know that even if Carsland is coming, they aren't going to start any kind of real construction for at least a year.

Like others, I really don't understand why people hate this show so much? I think it is great and entertains my friends who think Disney is just for kids. If I could choose between them I would go for Cars Land but still, it's an awesome show.

The show is only running twice a day, so there would be plenty of time with no guests in the stadium to do surverying, no need to shut it down for that. The most likely explination is that the shutdown is no imminent and they need to do refurb work to keep the attraction operational. Looking back on the LMA news it appears it has had one of these short refurbs around this time for the past couple years.

Nah - that's why they have people working before and after park hours... If all they need to do is surveying/study.. there is ample time to do that.
