I think the “value” in LL depends on how often you visit, we’d never pay for it at DL where we’ve been dozens (maybe hundreds) of times, we did pay for it our last trip to WDW though and found it worth every penny because we only go once every year or 2.
With ILL and MLL our trip felt surprisingly similar to our old FP+ trips, which we loved, just $50 a day more expensive per person (which we didn’t love).
I don’t think we could justify WDW without LL, but that essentially makes it a mandatory expense for us and makes it harder to justify a WDW trip at all now.

You don't need to go to another park, though. Many of us enjoy using our AK evening to do non-park activities.
As for LL, different people like different things. It might not work for you but it does for others.

Late is still far better to do most things. Lots of ppl get there early, but few can really stay late and skip fireworks. Most ppl are tired and wimp out.Historically, no matter what system is in place, early entry is the best strategy

On our last trip to WDW we bought PH passes and as always utilized them to increase our experience. We used the LL only for GoTG and Tron. In two weeks time we got to do everything we wanted to without needing to pay out more. Like every Dis add on you have to decide what value in experience you are getting buying into something vs the cost. If you plan well you can have a very enjoyable trip without over spending and breaking the bank.
A lot of guests who have no money worries can drop excessive amounts on LL and Disney has been counting on them continuing to do so.

Closing the parks works great too as long as they are still letting folks in the queues, but I agree.

I would honestly skip the PH unless you plan to go to the festivals at night like at Epcot. That's pretty much all we use it for. Happy travels!

Very few Americans have the luxury of being able to take a 2 week vacation at once.

We are fortunate but we don’t get to visit every year or multiple times a year as many others do. There have been 2 or 3 year waits until we could either save up for a trip or manage to get time off. Even with 2 weeks we’ve had crowds that kept us from getting to do everything we wanted and left for home having items to do on a next trip.Two weeks? As you must know massive crowds and lengthy lines can impact your ability to get everything in. 2 weeks gives us time to get lots in but there’s lots to find to do that eats up that time and that time flies by fast!!!

Well, I'm sure that it makes things extra special for you since you don't go as often. And, you can get the enjoyment of seeing brand new things that others may not see if they go as frequently. Happy Disneying!

It doesn't matter how often (or not) you go. A 14 day vacation is vastly different from the standard 5-7 days most everyone else gets to "enjoy" at WDW.

I'm lucky enough to have gone in 2024 (3 park days), 2023 (2 park days), 2022 (1 day Disney) 2021 (3 park days), and 2019 (4 days)... my total days in Disney parks (13) is still less than 2 weeks on my last 5 trips!
Honestly though, weather LLMP is worth it is incredibly subjective. For me, it is super valuable, other's might not see it that way.

As I started ... yes we are fortunate to go for 2 weeks which is different than many. It still isn't as much as others get to do and it isn't always on a yearly basis.. And that 14 days isn't always our time frame. But for you to say of course we get to do whatever we wanted because it was 2 weeks isn't true. We still missed out on a lot. What one family enjoys is different than another despite the time frame you can work with.

Yes, we are always building a list for the new things that come up between trips to do. It also is sad because many things also disappear on us and we miss out on doing them one last time and they are gone forever. .

I kinda agree with this. Though everyone tours differently. I only think park hopper makes sense if you are at Boardwalk or Beach/Yacht Club. Then you can hit Epcot for drinks or the different restaurants at night and access is quick and easy. Otherwise I find doing one park at a time works for us, even if we take a break and come back later. If it's something that closes earlier like AK, well thats a night to hit the springs, eat off site or just make it a resort night.

Why not a bit of both?
I tend to start early, though not die-hard rope drop), maybe take an afternoon break, then return for the evening. I love the look of the parks after dark. Much prefer night parades to daytime ones.
As for OP's post, sometimes LLMP is kinda worthwhile, and sometimes it isn't. I tend to think it is of more value when paired with park hopping.
I said the opposite in the days of Fastpass. In the days of FP, it made more sense to stay in one park.
With LLMP, the longer you stay in your first park, the less there is to book, because you can't rebook any rides. Availability is always a limit, but say in AK, once you've done the Safari, FoP, EE, maybe Dino, that's about it.
BUT the parks are currently in pretty sad shape with so many closures: TT, BTMRR, Muppets, ITtbaB, Triceratop Spin,Astro, HoP, and soon Buzz. With so many rides down at WDW, it is prob a good time to see the nearby new theme park.

Absolutely, mix it up. However, "rope dropping" gets you about 1-2 rides before the park is swamped. I like rope dropping if I'm doing one specific thing.
Not true. We rope drop every day and it's more like 4 rides before the lines get beyond 30 minutes.
By the way we rope drop and spend the day at the parks and into the evening. No mid day rest for us. Been doing this for years and now in our late 60's and still going strong. Anything below 8-10 miles a day is rare for us.
I am one of those people that doesn't require a lot of sleep. 5 hours is a good night for me. So it's up early and stay up late.
That being said lets get back on topic here. I really don't care what kind of money or vacation time people have in Europe.
