They did say before the day of your park visit.

This is now the DFB reported it, simply because I was looking for a report of what was actually said.

If you missed the days of selecting some FastPass+ reservations in ADVANCE of your trip, you may be in luck. Disney has acknowledged that they’ve heard guests saying they wish they could “plan with Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane selections before the day of their park visit” and Disney has now shared that they’re “working on ways guests may do this for visits in 2024.”

That could be the day before but more likely to be a few days ahead at least, whether 7, 14, 30 or whatever.

if it's not prior to the trip then they aren't fixing much in my opinion.... most prefer to start the day having some type of plan... the 7am day of lottery scramble is just not ideal to begin your day while there on vacation

i've even had to do that while standing up on a bus in route to a park....not fun

My guess is that Genie++ and Ill+ will let you pre-schedule a limited number of rides for length of stay starting 3-10 days before your first day, and all for somewhere between 1.5-3X the cost of Genie+/Ill.

So if G+ costs $30 day-of, you can choose to pay somewhere between $45 and 90 to be able to pre-select some Lightning Lanes.

Just a hunch based on the recent history of how they've run things.

thats how it feels to me as well...

not how can we make the guests happy

it's how can we make money off them

That is along the lines of what I am thinking - at least the G+ (not sure if they will do ILL ahead of time as well)

I could see them only allotting like 50% of the G+ capacity for any given ride to the pre-booking and save the other 50% for day of so there is still incentive for those that can't pre-book to still buy it

Other way I could see it is they have it a set price per day but you have to buy it for the duration of your trip if you prebuy/book vs being able to only do it on select days

So it might not be much of an increase (or an increase at all) but if you have a 6 day park ticket you would have to buy it for $30/day for all 6 days vs picking and chosing

We all know there will be a premium charged for the option of "advanced booking". You won't be able to get it for less than the highest per-day cost plus probably 20%.

Right - plus, G+ was originally pre-bookable for your whole trip at $15/day. They took that away ostensibly to prevent people from buying it as much, which was draining capacity. So they made it day-by-day purchase at higher prices.

I just don't see them offering more (the ability to pre-book) for the same price. That just isn't 2023 Disney. Shame.

According to @lentesta this is what he's heard.

Everything I've heard has been along the lines of:
7-day advance booking window for on-site guests
3-day advance window for off-site guests and APs
3 advance reservations
All the parks will have "tiers" of attractions (I think the MK did not have FP+ tiers)
Like FP+, you'll be able to select one from the top tier and two from the next tier
I don't know yet how same-day reservations will work. Like, if there's sufficient supply, will you be able to select a second top-tier attraction on the day of your visit, after you've used your first three? I don't know.

I've also not heard of an upcharge for this advance booking on top of the regular G+ cost. It's certainly possible.

For most of you, it sounds like you're getting what you want. It's going to kill Genie+ sales day of. They don't have enough capacity for this to work. Good luck getting more than your 3 per day.

When you say 3 advance reservations, do you mean you can pick 3 per day like the old FP+, or that you can do it for 3 days max. Hoping that on site guests can pick at least one per day in the new (potential) system

Really does sound like Paid FP+ (just 7 and 3 days instead of 60 and 30).

The tiers thing is really annoying and just shows how many attractions have FP/LL no b/c they need it but just to have inventory so people can book *something*

Only way day of books might be ok is if they only allocate like 50% of slots to advanced bookings, but if even off site guests can book in advance, probably not

My guess it would be for your whole trip. I don't see how this is going to make things better. Yes you can book in advance but odds are you will be limited to your 3 a day as they will run out each park day.

that would be skewed data in my opinion and not comparing apples to apples if they moved back to FP+ but charge for and limit it with tiers

guests may be satisfied with 2-3 attractions per day if they can select 2-3 of the big/most popular ones throughout the day... but give 2-3 attractions per day and only 1 in tier 1 you "might" be able to snag and then others being Barnstormer-ish when you're paying for it, people aren't going to be happy
