Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It rarely happens. The majority of the time it's 30 minutes or less.

For my family if we are paying for a FP or Fastlane we want to have multiple rides on attractions.
I must be spoiled with KI FL lines, most I've waited was 10 minutes. Our CP visit: eh, not even the 13yo wants to go again.

Maybe I've been lucky. We've been going for 6 years now and never had long waits. Then again we go in May and when we do visit in the summer it's during the week.

More would stop going

It’s already starting to happen just not at those levels yet

People have to feel like they are getting as much as they can for as much as their paying, and post Covid many aren’t feeling the magic in that dept

We have our first trip with G+ coming up so we will see how it goes - had multiple groups of friends go recently that did really well with it - took a lot of effort, but got tons of rides in

I still think the park pricing provides good value but the Resorts are really becoming challenging - pricing keeps going up, less and less discounts, and fewer and fewer perks

Our thought process now is go for fewer days, spend more per day but get a ton done in those days ... But we shall see how it goes - might be out last trip for a while

Genie+ can work, just takes more effort than it should and is a poor design having guests stress over it and play the LL lottery game the morning of your park day

Whoever designed this obviously never used the old system or the new system experiencing it like most guests do or try to

From what I have heard the developers designed it with the idea way fewer guests would use it and never thought attractions would run out of LL for the day, etc

If only 10% of guests used it, it would be great, but obviously not designed for how typical WDW guests act - so obviously not designed by typical WDW guests which is probably the biggest issue - they didn't spend time walking the parks and seeing how guests act

Disney always seems surprised by the, um, intense nature of WDW guests ... "Due to unexpected demand ..."

They have enough data they should have known. Plus that’s not the only issue. The 7am game is just insanity

Too much is focused on $ more than the guest experience now and it shows

This is really well said. After my trip last Thanksgiving, where it was me, my 7 yo and my 69 yo parents (which meant me and 3 children), I was absolutely spent. The three of them had an amazing time, and while I did as well, I was constantly stressed out. My dad told me several times that he wishes I could relax, which was nice. But I knew that was likely going to be his and mom's last trip, and there was so much I wanted to make sure we got to do because it's such a special place for us, and we only had 3.5 days to do it, and their stamina is really poor, so I was going to maximize our trip come hell or high water.

The fact that I was relieved the day that the three of them left MGM at 4, which let me have 6 park hours all to myself, is so....wrong.
Im not being smart, but i too call it mgm. And it allways will be. Easer to say! Have a good one!

We were pretty successful with it. But that was after analyzing it to death, knowing how attractions went through return times throughout the day, etc. Too much effort for a vacation.

I just don't understand why they didn't keep the FP+ model. If they wanted to make money off it just have it so you had to pay an extra $10 a day to add it to your ticket. I am not sure what Genie+ has done to solve any issues there were previously with FP+
More people holding more reservations requires a lot more capacity to be available, capacity that does not exist. FastPass+ was unsustainable because the parks inherently lacked capacity and that would eventually hit this crunch type of crunch point.

But now we pay for the same type of thing but with less capacity and availability than before

My guess is that they didn’t want to charge for a previously free service because that would have made the cash grabby nature of it more overt. So instead the idea is that Genie+ was supposed to be an “upgraded” service that is worth $15 more than FastPass. Of course that clearly didn’t happen - it’s a worse service for more money.

I am at least relieved, from what DisneyGlimpses has posted, to see that Disney apparently understands how unpopular Genie is and that it needs to go.

The restriction of no re-rides is ridiculous. If I want to use Genie+ on Haunted Mansion 3 times instead of 1, why shouldn’t I be able to. Doesn’t that then open up slots for other attractions that I am not riding?

Idiotic is an understatement.
Wait you don’t get the idea that allowing people the ability to take multiple ride slots from the same ride will lower the overall ability to allow the most guests to get on the most number of rides as possible? You don’t think that for everyone one of you (and me too as I love the dark water rides as opposed to coasters) that wants to re-ride pirates and haunted mansion, you are going to have multiple people trying to book 3 space mountains or Everest?

In the Parks
No
Allow guests to buy Genie+ and book 3 attractions (3 tiers - one from each tier) 30 days in advance. Tiers could be most popular, secondary popularity, and shows/meet and greets/least popular.

Allow guests to select their time

Allow guests to modify their time

Raise price to $25/pp, include ILL in the mix (naming them LL and ILL is ridiculous, changing the name from fastpass wasn’t necessary either)

Ability to book 1 additional LL after using one

If we have to prebook our park(s) then why not prebook attractions like before.
Been saying this for months now....
