Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

FP+ was amazing for us..enable us to plan our day..meant we could organise everything and it was free...hassle free and freed up time. Genie is just a shambles, expensive and worse in every way to FP+

Oh i agree. But FP+ still marginalized guests between the smaller amount of haves (you and i for exmaple) and the vast amount of have nots. My point was that both systems are flawed...just one more so than the other.

FP+ Guaranteed me two amazing trips where i did everything and ate in the hardest to get restaurants each night etc. BUT i also went comando...staying up at midnight to book thinfs etc. Even if it worked for you or i. That is still rediculous.

Not sure what you find acceptable about paying $15 each to basically get 2 or 3 rides out of it a day...and that's with staying in that park all day...with the old system I'd have used all 3 of my FP up by midday and start using them individually after that.
I don't think we're talking about the same thing. The RAT BG timing (not $$ ILL) is the least annoying thing right now and that's saying a lot.

I'm also a little confused as to why practically nobody is wearing a mask inside the queues?, seeing as we are in the thick of a worldwide pandemic and a new more deadlier strain...im ot sure if it's arrogance or ignorance? Most likely both.

Has the Coronavirus magically disappeared?
Over Thanksgiving week when we were there I want to say 90% were masked in the lines or better on the rides we rode.

I was one of the 10% and didn’t give or get Covid.
Oh I will admit I was very guilty of forgetting to mask up between getting off a ride and getting back on or running into a shop. But I was stopped pretty quick and reminded by castmembers and they were all polite about it.

So from everything I’m reading. On moderate days it’s worth having for MK and HS. Also you need a decent plan for making sure you optimize the amount of lightning lanes you get to use. Am I reading this right? Also on a moderate day do you expect that the lighting lanes run out super quick for the whole day as well? Thanks.

Not always...last midweek on a normal/moderate day we purchased LL for Seven Dwarfs...we had to wait 30 minutes in the LL queue, even though we had forked out almost $30 for that privelege

We also had an Avatar FOP paid LL for $33...and had to wait 45 minutes...in a paid Lightning Lane!!!

I dont known the answer to Disneys Problems, but charging people an extortionate amount each day on entrance, G+ and LL+ , only for the system to be a million times worse than FP+ is mind bogling...but, Disney are the clever people - if they were to wrap a turd in chocolate and shape it like Mickey mouse, thousands would still pay $15 for it.

Thank god we managed to have 9 or 10 holidays to Orlando while the (much superior) FP+ was available.....if we had to deal with this garbage and expensive system, we would never have come back to Orlando so many times from the UK.

It will be sad, but Disney has in effect forced us to venture elsewhere in the world and we will say goodbye to Orlando on Saturday for the last time.

My first experience with G+ was a bust. Like another poster, I couldn't purchase until 7AM on the nose and SDD was already a 7 PM return time before the app even let me attempt to buy G+, so I passed on it because I didn't want to risk paying $15/person for my wife and I and not even get the ride we want the most at DHS. Instead, we did an ILL for Remy later in the day for $9/person, so Disney lost some potential revenue due to their refusal/inability to allow resort guests with APs to purchase G+ even a minute before 7 AM. Maybe it's a subtle way to discourage people from buying APs. "Hey, we jacked up AP prices and hold you back from getting G+ until good return times are already taken. Have you considered just buying tickets instead?"

Today we have park reservations at Epcot. Got up at 6:30 to get ready to get into the virtual cue for Remy. 6:59 I hit “refresh” and it said to wait until 7. My phone clicked 7:00, I hit refresh, it said Join virtual cue, clicked that and it said “no times available. Try again after 1:00!” How is this possible that ALL times are gone within seconds?? Unless they are purposely manipulating the numbers to force you to pay for LL. Yesterday was our first day in the parks. We rope dropped Rise and it was already an hour wait when we got in line. BUT the ride broke down TWICE while we were in line, making our total wait time over 2 1/2 hours! By the time we got out, all other rides had posted wait times of well over an hour except for Muppets. So far on this trip, NOT happy.

Exactly the same as me...as 6.59am I was refreshing the page about 10 times a second, at 7.00 and 1 second, it got me through the book page and said there were no more slots available? Like...how can that be? Have thousands booked it up in under half a second..on a Tuesday?

Utter garbage system.

On a more positive note (a very rare thing at Disney at the moment) we ended up in Holkywood Studios last night at 7pm...TOT said 60 minutes, we were on in 20. RnR said 75 minutes, we were on in 25. MNMRR said 60 minutes and we were on in 25.

So we waited less than half the listed wait times? I mean, I know during the day Disney over inflate the wait time to get people to buy G+, but at 7pm on a night?

I dont understand how they can get it so wrong. 5 or 10 minutes yeah, but half the listed times?

Another positive note (yep, shock horror we've had two) - we went to buy some Churros at 8.30 and the lady said "These are on Mickey" and we were given them free.

Another thing while I'm on a rant.

I am fed up up people pushing past a 2 hour queue to the front where one member has been waiting at the front.

It shouldn't be allowed and Disney should be monitoring and stopping it.

3 girls pushed from the back of a 2 hour Avatar ride to meet up with their friend close to the front of the queue...saying "we have been to the restrooms" (while carrying coffee).....well, go to the restroom and get that coffee and THEN join the queue...dont have it both ways where you take your time, queue for a coffee and then push all the way to the front of the queue.

There is NO EXCUSE to warrant you pushing past a long line to your friends at the front.

It happened on Hagrids too...about 10 people did it at various times...im sick to death of people thinking that's OK!!

I refuse to let people like that past me. If they cannot be bothered to stay with their crew then that is on them. Go to the bathroom first. I'd consider the "bathroom" excuse if the person had a small child in tow because kids are kids. Short of that, they are not getting past me.

Oh we have an internet tough guy here!!

How about you let the employees handle bad guest behavior before you end up in the hospital?
