Maybe they’ll make everything ILL. Individually pay for each ride… I wouldn’t do it, but if the standby lines improved from the change that I guess it would be alright
That’s the system they use at Disneyland Paris. You pay and get a time which is usually within 10 minutes, if my recent trip is typical. There is also a “package” that gets you one access for “each” ride.

* each meaning every ride that is part of Premier Access - basically any ride that would had FP in the past.

Also - Don't expect any kind of "Free Genie+" deals. The best they can do these days is a discount. And you'll have to pay rack rate on your room to get it. I could see some kind of bundle where if you get a 5-night non-discounted room (plus you must purchase park hoppers for everyone), you can get 25% off Genie+ and the insipid Dining Plan.

And the suckers will buy it.

Fast pass will not be equaled…

Because it was based on numbers when the park park ops numbers were appropriate…
(Don’t make me post the video 😡)

It’s numbers that are off…which has caused 15 years of bandaids under the agenda of monetization.

Fastpass was created for a specific reason…+ and genie for an entirely different goal.

We are lead to believe they are all the same.

It's certainly not impossible, but it would be borderline corporate malfeasance. The howling from Wall Street, if they shut off such a successful revenue stream, would be deafening.
What about resort parking fees? Was cancelling that “successful revenue stream” “borderline corporate malfeasance?” Was there a lot of howling from Wall Street about that?

It seems like you know the answer to your own question… so why ask?

I would be good with that ... Assuming they have like 10-12 rides total with ILL and free up all the rides that have LL that don't need it (Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Etc)

I honestly think Genie+ and ILL was only implemented as a money grab, NOT to help or serve the guests purchasing it.
None of these things were EVER for “guest experience”…
Anyone out of the fourth grade could take a step back and come back to that conclusion

But some programs provide “perks” along the road to where they’re driving you…

“Choices” was the primary benefit unstated

The more fees…the less free choices

That's probably the fairest, but it's such a fundamental shift on how they have done line skipping. They would have to re-think capacity in all different ways.

Remember there is an additional value-add of guests skipping lines - they feel better about their day, they buy more food, more merch, etc.

I hope they land on this:
  • 7 days before your trip, you can buy and select your first Genie+ day and also pre-purchase your ILL for all the days of your stay.
There are some cons with that system, but if they add Tiers I think it's a bad value-add.

To me this is the only tolerable update to G+.

I think there are folks in TWDC that did make it past the 4th grade that actually think G+ helps the guest experience.

That’s too much “mandatory add on fees”…

We gotta stop this…paying $24 for a 49 second roller coaster.

It’s really up to us to NOT buy these things…let them price out the middle…let attendance fall…

It’s the only way to “save” the parks…make them fall…make ‘em build.

Don’t cry to me when it falls, peeps…I’m just the messenger 📝

Once they go back to pre-purchase I can totally see free G+ for each ticket you purchase. Math could work out better than a room discount.

My family for example is 5. $400 a night rack rate for 5th sleeper. For a 6 night stay with 4 park tickets, a normal 20% discount nets me $80 a night or $480 savings for the week. Assuming I want G+ every day, $25x5x4 that's $500.

So now you give larger families another choice to make and it's the same cash out of Disney's pocket but one deal might appeal to a family vs the other.

That’s not what he’s saying

…he’s saying they can’t “de-activate” a revenue source when they’re under this much stress at the top.

Wall Street won’t allow that…or to be more specific: sorry Bob won’t risk it being thrown on the burning pile of logs on his shoulders already

Fair point. I'm always taking the approach these days that any "deal" Disney offers is tilted in their favor and that you will ultimately not save any money regardless of the incentive offered. Because TDO needs that revenue.

You are not paying $24 to go on a 49 second roller coaster. You are paying for time waiting to go on a 49 second roller coaster.

It's exactly what he said. I just laid out a scenario where it's free instead of discounted and the money is a wash to the bean counters.
