A bad, bad idea to bring that backI think you’ll be able to pay for and book G+ reservations in advance, like the old FP system.

They don't have enough ride capacity for that. It's why they got rid of it in the first place.I think you’ll be able to pay for and book G+ reservations in advance, like the old FP system.

Not for everyone.A bad, bad idea to bring that back

I was thinking the same thing. There are definitely planners and anti-planners and I'm not sure how Disney is going to appease both. I personaly would prefer either to the current "roll the dice and see what you get" system. Either let me walk onto anything anytime or let me know in advance what I can walk on to.That is the challenge (well, one of them) - no one system will make everyone happy. Majority of people I know would prefer some sort of precooking but definitely not all (estimating like 65% would)

Precooking is the only way for me to remain tender and juicy, unless maybe you use an air fryer.
It still comes back to not enough capacity for any of the systems to work. That is the challenge (well, one of them) - no one system will make everyone happy. Majority of people I know would prefer some sort of precooking but definitely not all (estimating like 65% would)

Agreed. IMO the best idea is the one you had. The top attractions in each park are paid LL and everything else is standby only.Oh yeah - every system - and adjustment after - is like trying to slap another bandaid on a severed arm
Part of the issue, I think, is that the Disney planners type can be intense (I include myself in that) and so try to turn whatever system Disney outs out there into a preplanning one
The current G+ system was supposed to make things easier and less stressful and not require so much effort - but then people want to maximize things and stretch the functionality and work it in ways against the spirit of the system
Then they shouldn't have designed a system that is none of those things.
I truly do not understand why anyone in their right mind would advocate that PAYING FOR RIDES AFTER YOU ALREADY PURCHASED A $109+ PARK TICKET is a good thing. Unless they are going back to the 70's and implementing ride tickets on top of a (much) smaller admission fee, STOP supporting their decades-long bad decision making.
It doesn't matter how many people are using it, the system as implemented is not less stressful, easier to use, or requiring less effort. If anyone involved with this thing thought 20% would use it, they should be fired for that alone. From what I understand the system was designed with ~20% take-up which would have enabled a much more casual, less stressful usage.
But in reality it was getting closer to 50% take-up which overloaded the system
All parks do it so it's not just a Disney thing. Unlike other parks Disney has made it so you need to pay for it to enjoy the parks.I truly do not understand why anyone in their right mind would advocate that PAYING FOR RIDES AFTER YOU ALREADY PURCHASED A $109+ PARK TICKET is a good thing. I don't think anyone is saying it is a good thing to have to pay extra, just that it is the reality and paying the extra and getting the extra benefit is better than not paying for it while other do and then you are stuck in barely moving standby lines
Also paying the extra on top of the ticket is still less than (or in line) a lot of other parks if you pay their entrance ticket plus extra for their skip the line pass
Or just don't go, which apparently a lot of people are doing
So if all other parks decided to charge for admission plus charge for each ride and Disney followed suit, that's ok? Because "other parks are doing it"?All parks do it so it's not just a Disney thing. Unlike other parks Disney has made it so you need to pay for it to enjoy the parks.
