I’m sure this has to have been said before…..can we just go back to the good ole Golden Days of the Ticket Book? A-E and buy more to repeat?

Better back in the day, correct?

All of you are part of the problem. You're all enablers. You all hate on the way the parks are going but continue feeding the problem

I would like to remove myself as part of the problem because I rarely (if ever) hate on Disney. 😄 Hey, are you in Canada, sending me (Chicago) down all this smoke today? We were out walking and my eyes and throat are actually burning. You can see the smoke, it smells, and the sun is out but it's cloudy. Very bizarre day. I feel bad for you guys.

No harm done today. It's more frustrating for the poster trying to "point things out" to me than it is for me, I'm sure. 😄

It wasn’t a drag…it was an attempt (apparently a bad one) at showing how the perspective on this thing can vary Greatly. I’ve used it…but don’t advocate it’s expansion. I want that gone as much as genie. Management can’t be trusted and they’re already terrible.

I apologize for my approach.
I agree. It's possible to prefer using ILL/G+ to not using them (when they exist and are in use) while still ultimately preferring they didn't exist at all.

It's one of those cases in which, since everyone is doing it, you kinda have to as well, just to keep up!

Isn't this like the prisoner's dilemma? 🤔
How apt.

It's probably coming from us. My mother-in-law said it was very smoky yesterday in Thunder Bay. Hopefully by the beginning of August it will be good as we are heading to your neck of the woods as part of a 4 park road trip. Visiting Great America, Indiana Beach and Kings Island

Is that what’s going on? We’re getting it by O’Hare too.

Yep.

Honestly, it smells like the entire city is grilling at one time and I'm hungry.

(no joke though, I can see someone who has breathing issues having a very difficult time today, stay healthy people!)

Yes, it's from Quebec. Wisconsin is blanketed in smoke today. Check out some pics from Green Bay and Milwaukee. It's bonkers. We are in far northwestern WI today at the UW we graduated from and it is crazy with smoke here, too. Smells smokey and thick layer of it is easily seen at ground level. Air quality is dangerous.

I read today it's the worst year so far for forest fires up here.

They said the sunset today, at least here, is supposed to look AMAZING! I'm going to pour a glass of wine and stare at the sky later....

We've been having incredible sunsets for weeks! You haven't? Our house faces west, so we have great sunset views every night. 😊

Then say it to the others in this thread who were advocating upsells in small doses.
I think his point was, when you go 2-3 times a decade, splurging like that to get on the individual rides you really want to not miss since you do only go 2-3 times a decade doesn't feel nearly as bad - just like splurging on everything else while there.

Those are the easy spenders Disney covets.

I've been there myself with visiting DL so no judgement from me but the dynamic changes when you're a more frequent visitor. It's a little harder to ignore or justify the tally when it's a part of your annual (or more frequent) spending.

That doesn't make you bad or wrong but it's one kind of visit where you can justify it with the sunk costs of the semi-rare trip vs. people Disney has roped in with the illusion of property ownership and a commitment that lasts about 5x as long as most marriages - a whole other kind of sunk cost that I think have many questing the vows they made to the mouse in better times.

Just a reminder that depending on what end you’re on, one person’s “just pointing it out” is another person’s “lecture.”

It's always going to be short-shifting one group to make another group happier.

That's why no crowd management system that doesn't involve considerable attraction capacity increases is ever going to make the majority of guests happy.

And that's the least profitable solution for Disney now which is why we'll all be arguing about this on here forever as they change things in one direction or the other to avoid that as much as possible. 🥺

It was never personal…I phrase things wrong…not personal

Wait…the exception is denial of fact. That is within one’s control. This is an opinion discussion so that doesn’t apply. Dre preferred the ILL…some detest them…I’m in the middle. There are some advantages but a danger if it continues

Never needed to be a middle school fight.
