Just wanted to post that you DO NOT get preferred seating with FastPass+ at Fantasmic as I had read previously somewhere in this forum. Last year we had the Dinner Package and "preferred seating" was in the far right corner. This year it's it all three center rows. I was FURIOUS! We walked out.

I don't recall ever seeing anything about FP+ giving preferred seating for Fantasmic. Everything that I have ever seen/read is that it is just like for any other ride/attraction. It allows you to not have to stand in line forever to get in and get a seat. I believe the only time that you get "preferred seating" with a FP+ is for Wishes or Illuminations.

agree here, the package dinner is called "VIP" , there is no FP+ on this.
the VIP section is all on the 3 big rows out of the 6 or 7 the fantasmic zone has.

Then there has been a change. We had FP+ for Fantasmic in August and the center section was exclusively for FP+, with the dinner package directly next to us on the right. About five minutes before the show, they opened the section for other guests since it was not full. I was surprised that FP+ had better seating than the dinner package. Maybe the dinner package guests complained (and rightly so.)

I am sorry for your disappointment.

I agree... I have also seen in several posts that FP+ had special seating for Fantasmic so I have that as a selection for our December vaca. Where was your seating?

I'm having a hard time following this. Are you saying you had the dining package and were upset with being in the center rows or are you saying that you are upset that the FP+ is not in the center rows? Does anyone know where FP+ seating is?

We had the Fantasmic Dining Package last month and were seated in the Center, probably 1/3 up from the show. It was the BEST seats we've ever had!!!

second here!
My mother and I were allowed in to the deaf section (I´m a partial deaf user) which was empty except for 2 people.
I think it was on the Scar section. (unsure as I dont remember all the names of the sections)

funnily, despite being almost all the way up, we still got a little wet by the water effects.

*edit* To be more clear since I ws not.
Since I am partially deaf with an implant. I was let inside the POCAHONTAS private zone for people with disabilities, They had these reflective captioning devices.. (THEY DIDNT WORK btw..). Only a very few people were there.

We were happy to be almost on top, due of the wind.. you could get easily wet with the water effects of the show.

So how exactly does the FP+ for Fantasmic work at this time? Some separate entrance that eventually merges with all those who stood in line for ever, as I've done many times in the past, and then just fights for seats at the top of the arena bowl?

I used the FP+/Dining entrance on 11/5 - you have a separate entrance and line up to stroller parking area. Then you are merged with the regular guests. Once inside the two Mickey sections in the center are labeled for Dining and roped off. As of 15 minutes before the show CMs were not checking if people had Dining or not in fact we were turned away and told the section was full. I could see available seats so I put my foot down and told them we were there in the time frame given by Disney and I could see seats. They did not check if we had Dining but let us in . We easily found seats a few rows down that could have fit at least 8 people. There were other empty spots as well.

I did not see anything labeled for FP+ as people said on the site. Some people said Pocahontas was being used but it was not roped off. If there is no reserved seating section I see no major advantage to having FP+ for Fantasmic.

if this is correct, I was indeed on SORCERER MICKEY in my last trip (this october) (next to SCAR section)
behind me was one of the towers with lamps and control staff.

as for FASTPASS I think there i the confusion..
as explained in that studioscentral site..

How does it work?

You make an Advanced Dining Reservation for dinner at one of the participating restaurants and request the package. After the lunch or dinner, you'll recieve tickets (similiar to FASTPASS) for a showing of Fantasmic! that night in a special section for you.

Therefore, you do not have to line up and stake out your section or wait in the theater or anything else. You just have to show up at the designated time (at least 30 minutes before) and you'll have a seat waiting for you."

I believe you but as of 11/5 Mickey was labeled for Dining Package. That is where we sat. I was looking for the FP+ area as I was thinking of using it int he future, I didn't see any signs for FP+.

that is correct, it doesnt says FP+, but from beast to sorcerer mickey .. in my case.. they were marked as ¨ VIP dinner package ¨.
I never seen a FP+... logo anywhere (also, please check my quote about the site.. I think you confused the VIP dinner tickets with FP+)

unless they started to offer FP+ access recently to it? (my trip was 1 month ago..September 30 to October 7)

I would think the dining package moving to the center would be preferred to being off in the far corner. That's why I've never done the dining package because I think those seats are dumb.

When we did FP+ in August, Mickey was the FP+ section and it was marked as such. Scar was marked as dining. Obviously there has been some tweaking. We never even had to wait in line, just escorted right in. We were very aware in August that we had the ''best of'' the MM+ system since Disney was looking for positive reviews at the beginning of the test!

I have fastpass+ for Fantasmic in December so they are doing that. Hope it is a reserved section or why use a fastpass+ selection for that day up?

So you are upset that something you read on a message forum is not what it is in real life. Amazing.
