Liberty Tree Tavern?

i just spoke with WDW-DINE and they said they had a spot open on December 13th for Liberty Tree Tavern. we were not sure we wanted to do the reservation thing this trip, but the operator said we should grab the reservation as this place is hard to get into on such short notice.

i was just wondering if that was true and if it would be a nice place for dinner.

With the choices at MK for sit-down dinners being so, er, sparse - you should jump on this. The food there is fantastic. It's my favorite place in MK to eat.

has it always been this hard to get reservations? i always read about the 180 day in advance thing and thought "you have to be kidding" but i guess not.

during our stay next month, making reservations at MK was totally unavailable, until the operator said she found something at the Liberty.

i can understand why people make their reservations so far in advance. for us, this next trip to WDW was a last minute decision so making early reservations wasn't an option.

Well, yeah. I'm two hours away so imagine deciding you're going to EPCOT in two weeks just for a day trip and just not being able to get the reservations you would like.

:(:( Story of my life.

it actually might be a good thing that we are not going to have a lot of reservations.

the first time we went to WDW we got all caught up with the Priority Seating and we ate and then we ate and then we ate some more. we spent several afternoons taking a nap when we should have been in the park touring because we had a character breakfast buffet and then some huge lunch.

worst experience was going to The Brown Derby a few hours after a big character breakfast at Crystal Palace. we had planned to spend the entire afternoon at MGM and ended up heading straight back to the hotel where we ended up watching a "Golden Girls" marathon on Lifetime.

talk about spending your time wisely.

You will not be disappointed. The food is good and the characters are fun, even if you don't have kids it's a good time.

Just ate there for the first time on our last trip and it was fantastic. You won't regret it--just make sure you're hungry when you go!

Yeah, as more people discovered you COULD make reservations, it went from a good idea to a near-necessity.

Liberty Tree is especially difficult nowadays because at the beginning of next year, it will cease to be a character meal. So anyone who knows this and who is going to WDW over the next 2 months is trying to get in there for one last character dining experience.
