I guess that's debatable for sure. I'm a little partial to WDW being on the East Coast and visit annually.I mean does Disneyland deserves it more due to Walts strong ties with that park as opposed to Orlando.

Again a lot of the items are on loan.
Surely Disneyland deserves it more though ?
I think the statue at the end of main street serves as an honorable form.Walt hand picked the Orlando site so its not just a case us battling Disneyland vs. WDW, it a matter of respect. Both locations should have his prescence in some honorable form. I did see that they removed his office from the site.
Yes I would agree with you. However, have you ever seen OMD ? I find all the various examples how the rides were developed, the castle differences, just all the prep that goes into WDW being WDW or just Disney in general. Maybe I just LOVE the modeling ?I think the statue at the end of main street serves as an honorable form.
I agree with Walt's personal effects, though most of the exhibits I've seen were models of attractions created way long after Walt's passing. They depict the development of attractions within all the various parks, here and abroad. The personal effects of Walt's belong to the Disney family and are on loan to the Disney Company. That's probably why the desk will go to the family museum in San Francisco. If you want to write a letter, you better address it to the family as they have the final say. If the Company had any say in the Family decisions, I bet the Disney Family Museum would not be in San Francisco - so far removed from the Company's interests.
Yes, I have seen it. And while I did find it interesting, it isn't something that I have done a second time. I feel Nostalgia is something that is going by the way side as older generations die off, and the need for the "new big thing" has quickly devalued older rides and attractions. Whether that is a good thing or bad thing I don't know. But I feel like the exec's definitely feel the need for keeping with the times.Yes I would agree with you. However, have you ever seen OMD ? WOW !......WOW ! I don't know how to respond to "Nostalgia is something that is going by the way side as older generations die off,"Yes, I have seen it. AMEN ! Couldn't have said it BETTER ! you ROCK POLY LOVER !I agree you must stay current todays kids are looking to be wowed. But I respect history and if you don't remember your history then Disney will become just another theme park some day. The CEO's are just custodians of a mans dream and ideas that worked pretty darn well. The CEO's wil come and go but the idea, the dream will live on far beyond all of us. I really wish that my kids and other kids always walk into the front gate and somehow feel there is something different about this place and can't quite explain it. That difference will be that Walt's prescence is there in spirit.

Would that mean it's time for a name change for MICKEY too? See I guess this is what is known as the "generation gap" we're not talking nostalgia, we're talking HISTORY. Don't forget, you too will reach the "die off " all in time.
I said "I Feel" like it is, I didn't say it was a good thing, no need for the pointed you too will reach the "die off". It was an observation not a statement of approval.WOW !......WOW ! Who made you leave?Walt Disney One's Man Dream is awesome and I wanted to stay!
Why does "Nostalgia" affiliated with dying off of the older generation ? Can't the younger generation be nostalgic ? My statement wasn't meant to be pointed but to help understand, regardless who you are, we all will get there. You too will be there one day consider that . If we don't remember the past then you are condemned to repeat the same mistakes again and again. Bingo, I go to Disney because when I walk through those gates I,m young at heart, I carry the memory's with me and enjoy every minute of it. I hear so much negative and skepticism on this board pointed at folks who want to save or preserve things. We fully understand the times we are not dinosaurs but we also know you don,t toss away history. History is passed on to those who are alive to preserve it.Why does "Nostalgia" affiliated with dying off of the older generation ? Can't the younger generation be nostalgic ?
