Anybody who decides to wreck their surroudings in the name of celebrating a sports victory is a complete idiot! Boston, New York, LA, Dallas, where ever. And the thing is, those who are caught red handed don't have the fortitude to admit to it.

"No, your honor. It wasn't me."

I had a guest come into the store the other night and I told her I loved her Yankee hat, she said she was glad to hear it because she had just come from another store where a clerk verbally abused her choice of teams! My nephew is a freshman at URI (University of Rhode Island) and he said that the campus has gone crazy two nights in a row. The students are destroying campus property setting fires to dumpsters and even turned a car over! Is this team spirit? They riped a Yankee jersey off a students back and burned it!! My nephew is in ROTC and said that he has never experienced anything like this, he was out with his bullet proof vest! He said if the Red Sox make it to the World Series, he is definately not staying on campus. Ok, I have vented enough, I would just be embarrassed if I were a Red Sox fan!!:hammer: :brick:

Its all in good fun here...we are all friends and just bustin on each other. I have great respect for all the players.
We had a kid here in school (a recent transplant from Boston) advised to take off his jersey for his own saftey...he kept his hat on.
It really scares me to think that people get this crazy over a game.(thats all it really is)

GO YANKEES!

I totally agree, it's just a game! I know it's all in good fun here but out in the "real" world people take it so seriously. One of my prized shirts is a Mickees! jersey complete with Yankees pinstrips I got in 1998 at the shop on Main Street right next to Caseys. I haven't seen another like it anywhere.:sohappy: GO YANKEES!!

I saw that on the news and I was thinking that very thing! What is it with these Red sox fans?
When the Cleveland Indians were in the world Series , I think in 1995, The whole city of Cleveland and surrounding cities went crazy, but not that crazy.... Everybody just went around Cheering and honking their car horns, no setting fires and destroying property, I saw on the news that they even torched someones car, Is that the mentality of Red Sox fans???

Well , we invaded Camden yards all decked out in our Yankee jerseys (as did just about everyone else in left field). I must say they were very polite in Baltimore...if that many people showed up in the Bronx in Oriole shirts...

ITS GAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger and Pedro, oh my. :lookaroun

O.K. I am getting off the boards so I can go watch the game. I was reading the other posts. What Jeter lacks in talent as some of the other posters assume, he makes up for with being a team player. Why else would they have made him captain. In my other posts I mentioned how we only see the yankees when they play the rangers. I feel sorry for the ranger fans because it seems all they care about is a rod and to heck with their other players. Derek Jeter is a nice guy no matter what. He talked to my kids, signed their balls etc. It took 2 years for any pettite to sign their balls and the first time he was nasty too, saying cant you read the sign etc. (No autographs on hotel property). Lets go Yankees. I must say at the hotel we stay at there is security all over for the yankees but guess what when boston is there all they have up are the signs that say no autographs, video taping etc. of players. We have seen nomar twice at the check in desk. Probably walked past other players too but just dont know them.
Lets go yankees!!!!!!!!!

I agree.

If Zimmer is young enough to be on the bench, run to the field and take a swing, he's young enough to be tossed on his butt.

At first I thought Zimmer came from his blind side, but I have seen the replays...3 times. He came at him from the front, he was not swinging...no fists. Pedro grabbed him by the ears and threw him face first to the ground.

Anyone who would attack a 72 y/o man who has a heart condition, metal plate in his head and 2 recently surgically repaired knees needs to have his head examined. Even if Zimmer were to connect, how hard could it hurt? Pedro was wrong. (and I would feel this way were the shoe on the other foot.)

The man cannot run. He cannot even stand for long periods of time without a cane.

His Butt....no his face. Sorry Pedro is wrong.
