Oh we are true yankees fans. A trip to see them is only 2nd to disney. This year I will wait for the schedule and hopefully they will play the texas rangers in aug, (my dream) that way we can fly to disney from dallas. Yes I cheer even when they loose. Must say I will only see them in texas and not in ny. Why, you can't get near them in ny, too much security. In texas we have stayed with them in the hotel, my kids have played in the pool with their kids. Meanest yankee to date - paul o neill, nicest - derek jeter. Even signed my kids balls when he was on his cell phone at the pool. I would consider seeing them in florida. Has anyone done this. I only want to go if you can get up front for autographs etc. I bet they don't even stay in hotels there since its for the whole spring training. Its getting harder to see which hotel they are staying at. The security is getting too smart. I had to actually follow mike mussina cologne scent and saw where he snuck into the hotel. Boomer has walked past me. Strange outfit he had on. My dh is kind of oblivious to sports. He just came to the pool and said oh I was with don zimmer on the elevator etc., Andy Pettites wife opened the door for me because the suitcase was stuck etc. Gee. The yankees are 2nd only to the mouse. Go Yankees!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually live in a Yankee hotbed here  Rumor had it that Derek Jeter was looking at this gorgeous multi~million dollar house that was being built a few blocks over (house is still on the market so I guess we wont be neighbors  ) But Joe Torre lives here. He can be seen at one of the local cafe's having lunch from time to time (one of the guys at work spotted him last week in fact) Don Zimmer and my father have both the same hair line AND the same barber
Mean Yankee: Paul O'Neill. Totally agree. Paul used to go to the same barber as Zim and my father, which is in a popular shopping center. A small boy approached O'Neill while he was walking around the shopping center and asked for an autograph. Word is O'Neill basically told the poor kid where he could go
Andy Pettite's wife: rear~ended me coming out of the mall  I wont go into details. Suffice it to say, it wasnt as pleasant an experience as marypopmom's was
As for band wagon jumping, well, I have been a Yankee fan since, well, since I was old enough to know what baseball even was. I
STILL have my framed, autographed Bucky Dent photo

Yankee fans are fiercely loyal, and as said before, yes we CHEER our team in victory and, well, if your going to make a bone~head play, fully expect to be BOO'D back to the dougout! Yankee fans are very knowledgeable about baseball and are not afraid to show appreciation to opposing team members who make great plays or reach a milestone in our stadium...even one of the Red Sox
