I'm not sure, but I think those of us from Central Ohio might outnumber even those that live in Central Florida on these boards. I've been on for years, and I still find a new member or two each week from Columbus.

Anyways, I had dinner out tonight and was thinking, who can I share this with? Then I thought, fellow BuckNuts at wdwmagic.com could start an "Angie's List" sort of group about things around town going on and great places to eat and whatnot.

Anyways, the wife's family is Italian. They always go to Carfagna's for Deli trays for family get togethers. We've driven by the Carfagna's Kitchen a few times and keep forgetting to go. So, tonight we made the stop.

So my first review for this chat is Carfagna's Kitchen.

Pizza, Wedding Soup, Pesto, Lasagna. Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy!

Not a meal in the place will cost you over $10. And for under $10, it will knock your socks off. It's counter service and the food was ready within a few minutes of sitting down with the drinks. We'll get the only negative comment out of the way right now: The red sauce is kind of sweet. That's it. So on to the good stuff. The pesto was pretty light tasting and very refreshing. The pizza was great for a $6 pizza. But this takes my top spot for Wedding Soup in Columbus. My wife's family makes the Wedding Soup EVERY Christmas Eve. And I love it every Christmas Eve. I'd never had Wedding Soup until my first Christmas with her family. Now I get Wedding Soup at several places around town. But this was ALMOST as good as the "family" recipe. It was the very sharp parmesan in it that gave it an extra bite.

So if you want a very good, and quick Italian meal at a good price, this is your place.

I'll

Sounds good. Nothing like that here in Cincy. Pretty much have to go with a chain (Bravo's would be my choice) for Italian or hit some of the higher end places closer to the city.

As for Central Ohio, anyone out there have any comments on the changes at King's Island since Cedar Fair took over and what the future may hold? I am a pass holder, have been for years, and finally made it out to the park Thursday. The Waterpark was clean and not too crowded. Nothing new ride wise, but I enjoy the fact that waterpark admission is included in the park admission.

 We just got moved in a few weeks ago. Spent 4 years in hell... I mean the 'burbs of Detroit :lookaroun and now we're back.

Carfagnas has THE best jarred pasta sauce. (We happen to like it's different flavor. After going on and on about it to my parents, they were underwhelmed  ) I'm glad to see you posting about their restaurant, because we were wondering how it would be. We'll definitely stop by sometime.

 After months and months of wanting to go, we finally made it to City Barbecue the other night! :sohappy: It was REALLY good, however, I found out why there is virtually NOBODY in the dining room and so many ordering take out. By the end of the night I felt nauseated from all the smoke smell  I had the beef brisket sandwich with cole slaw and corn pudding, which was wonderful. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich which she loved, and my dad had ribs, which he said were "pretty good".

I'll have to go back and judge the ribs for myself I guess.

"My God, Marty, it dates back all the way to 2004!"

Why, yes. Yes, I do.

(I nearly burst out laughing remebering the ensuing private-message hilarity all over again. :D)

Especially looking back at this line, before OSU dropped the two big ones:

Ohhhh BTW when was the last time you won a Bowl Game?

I've only been to City Barbecue once, but it was really, really good. I, too am surprised to see how many Ohioans are on here. Technically, I'm not from "central" Ohio, but I'm pretty close.

Yes. Unfortunately, yes.

...What about people like me who are from both...? :lookaroun

 We'll see what happens in six days. I'm still debating whether or not I should jump in Mirror Lake for Beat Michigan Week this year... I guess we'll see how cold it is.

Although, I really shouldn't be talking. I rarely watch the games. I didn't yesterday. I actually went to Barnes and Noble and to a protest downtown at Columbus City Hall instead  I'm pretty much the worst Buckeye ever.
