LeFou's Brew....the verdict?

I had the chance to try it over the weekend and I can tell you this, it was ok. I don't feel the need to get it again. I noticed the workers actually mixing the drinks beforehand and as others have said it helps to stir the drink before slurping. I thought it was a nice mixture of flavors. A word to the wise, drink it fast because once it melts it just tastes like apple juice. Also I purchased it in its regular cup as there was no way I was going to fork over ten bucks for the specialty mugs.

When it comes to drinks of similar fashion I still prefer the simple frozen apple juice sold in Disneyland at Strombolis cart.

I did continue to read ....
Still think frozen apple JUICE is better for you than butterscotch flavoured soda.
I, however, will only be in a position to try LB next month, so it's going to win - hands down.
Neither of these beverages will win awards for Healthy Snack Items, lol. It's a bit like debating which is better for you - Starbursts or Skittles?

I don't understand your last sentence, though.

I agree with a pp who said it tastes better as you go. My first taste had me thinking it was bad. But it is a uniqueish flavor...and I paid like $5 for it...so I kept trying. And it did taste a little better as I went on.

I did throw it out before it was half gone, though.

I don't really care for apple juice, but LB was better than I expected. I could do without the foam on top though. I doubt this will become a regular drink for me. I'd much rather have a dole whip float.

We are going to WDW next month for 10 days, which will not include a side trip to Uni; therefore, I WILL be in FLE to try LB, but NOT at IOA to try BB.
I won't be buying it for myself anyway, but plan to have a sip or two of my niece's.
I'll be saving my indulgences for Dole Whip floats.

I get it! You're only trying one, so the one will try will be the best! Of course, it will also be the worst, lol.

Hope you like it more than I did!

Very true - it will also be the worst (well technically, it will be the worse, according to the grammar police).
In either case, I doubt either LB or BB will ever overtake my beloved Dole Whip float.
I will try it though (sans foam) and let you know.

My wife and I had it yesterday. She LOVED the drink while I did not care for it at all. We, of course, compared it to the frozen Butterbeer, and it really boils down to whether you like apple juice more or cream soda. I prefer cream soda, so I LOVE the Butterbeer. My wife hates cream soda and loves apple juice, so LeFou is better for her. Just an FYI, I did not get an annual pass discount on the brew, but always get one on Butterbeer. :)

I tried the Brew the other day and overall it was just decent. I think there's too many different types of flavors for one drink and I am not anxious to get it again....while on the other hand, I crave Butterbeer often and even make my own home version!

I liked Red's Apple Freeze but don't think it'd have it often. No real desire to go have it again with its new name. Maybe if I'm there and up for spending, but I won't go specifically for the drink te way I do with Butterbeer. I'll probably get Energon more often as well.

never tried butterbeer. where do you get it? I am assuming it is non-alcoholic...

I never got the chance to try LeFou's Brew, but it'd have to be really awful to out-stink Butterbeer. :p

However, I did stop by Gaston's to have a chocolate croissant and coffee. And both were very good, I'd have to say. I was especially pleased by the coffee; it was flavorful without being too strong. A step up for coffee in WDW, which, generally speaking, is dreadful in my view.

Since my original post, I've had the Brew....and I liked it. Being someone who enjoys tartness, I found that I like the LeFou's Brew better than Butterbeer. Butterbeer, while very tasty, is just far too sweet for me. Overall, it's really like comparing apples to oranges, two completely different drinks. Now the pork shank was incredible. No more turkey legs for me!
