Hi All -

I leave tomorrow evening with my nieces and nephews who have never been to WDW before. The taping of the parade on Saturday really threw a wrench in my plans...so I am looking to do the following (any affirmation or suggestions would be most helpful!):

12/4 - Leave tomorrow evening and get to the Coronado Springs around 10:30...will probably head to bed.

12/5 - After breakfast, head to MK until around 4 or so. Then, head back to hotel for swim/fun time. Around 7, head to EP to check out Illumuniations and maybe a few attractions. It's an Extra Magic night...do I just need to get bracelets for everyone in order to stay in the park?

12/6 - After breakfast, head to EP until around 4. Then we'll probably head back to the hotel for swim/fun time. Around 7, we'll head back to MK to see Wishes. Do you think the crowds will have lightened up since the parade taping? Will Main Street be open at this time do you think? After Wishes, we'll probably stay until about 10 or so...then head back to the hotel.

12/7 - Leave straight for the airport in the morning :cry:

Anyway, given the overall short time period, do you think this all makes sense? I just wanted the kids to be able to see Wishes (which only plays Saturday), but also avoid the heavy crowds due to the parade taping.

Any guidance would be MUCH appreciated!

I doubt you'll see lighter crowds after the taping. This really is the start of their "busy" time for the winter. Some people will probably leave, but I doubt the levels will drop so far that you'll have fewer people. Not to mention that if Wishes is only showing on the Saturday you'll be there, expect the crowds to be larger, as they'll be doing exactly what you're doing.

Hi Dear.....
This is my suggestion, I would avoid MG during the morning till about after lunch time 1 or 2pm...
You can go to Animal Kingdom, Epcot or Hollywood Studios instead then at night head to MK.......
MK will be very crowded especially around main street and the castle area.
You can also go to visit the Grand Flordian Hotel and see the GingerBread House in the lobby its supposed to be beautiful and you can visit the boardwalk hotel and a few others to fill in sometime before MK.
I don't know if this helps, I hope it does and I hope you have a great time, anytime there is better than none.
Enjoy ok. :xmas::wave:

Wristbands for evening EMH are no longer distributed. Now, you have to show your Key to the World card (resort room key) for everyone in your party in order to enter rides and attractions during evening EMH.

From past experience, the parade taping really only affects Main Street and the Hub in terms of crowds. The rest of the park is a normal Saturday crowd level. You just have to scoot around the crowds to get into the park.
But you're right that the evening crowds might get a bit larger if it's the only showing of Wishes.
