Pretty sure I heard that too.. but the "Leave a Legacy" is quite cool.. even though some people prefer the retro epcot look.. they will add a sense of happiness in 20 years when your children go back and see what their old parents looked like!!

My family and I got a walk around the world stone the first year they were availiable. It's situated right outside the main entrance of the MK. You've probably stepped on it and not even known it!

The Walk Around the World bricks are sold out, but I heard that some are approaching their time limit, which means they will be removed and make room for new ones.

Does that mean that the bricks will not be replaced, and the people that thought they would be there forever will lose what they paid for?

:( The bricks are no longer available. Leave a Legacy is pretty cool. My husband and I got our picture done last time we were there. They guarantee that Leave a Legacy will be there for 20 years, but after that they can remove it or move it.

Disney tells you the bricks will not last forever. They give you a maximum time that they will be up. The Maximum the give you doesn't mean they can't take it out tomorrow. People will probably receive their bricks in the mail once they are removed.

NO MEMORY OF THIS

...I almost bought one of those bloody bricks way back when....and I don't recall anyone ever, ever, ever mentioning that the bricks had a time limit....I'll betcha dollars to doughnuts that MOST people are gonna be royally ed when they start pulling those things up to make room for NEW bricks.

I seem to recall that those bricks were marketed with the implied intent that they would provide a lifetime of evidence of your visit to WDW....

...what a rip!

I've never heard that the bricks would be removed. What I was told in December was that the bricks would go back on sale when (if) Leave a Legacy sold out. There is still a lot of space on the monoliths and they would like to fill them up. There are tons of blank bricks throughout the MK entrance area.

The Walk around the World bricks are NOT sold out...I repeat NOT sold out!:brick:

The bricks were selling so well that Disney, in all their infinite wisdom, decided to ALSO do the Leave a Legacy thing to make MORE money.

However, after they put up the the Leave a Legacy Tombstone-looking things, they discovered that not many people wanted the Leave a Legacy squares but instead were buying Walk Around the
World bricks.

So in order to fill up the Leave a Legacy walls, they opted to STOP selling the Walk around the World bricks until the Leave a Legacy spaces are all filled up.

I was told by a cast member that works in the Leave a Legacy Kiosk that they will resume selling Walk Around the World bricks when the Leave a Legacy spaces are filled up.

If you look around, there are STILL lots of places when they can put the Walk Around World Bricks, and besides, you can't run OUT of bricks...if you don't have any, you just MAKE more.

Our kids each have a "brick." The paperwork they had us sign states that if the bricks are removed before a ten year period is up then you get back some pro-rated amount of the purchase price. After that they can do anything they want without compensation to the sponsor. It was implied that they would be there longer but not guaranteed. As they like to point out, Disney World is always changing.
BTW, one is at the transportation and ticket center and the other is only a few feet from the exit of the MK monorail station. Depending on how you get to MK you've probably walked on one and or both of them.

...one of the things that tempted me to buy a brick was that my daughter would be able to go back with her kids 20 years from now and show the brick to them as evidence that she had been there so many years earlier...

...wouldn't it be great if your kids were able to show their kids that Grandma & Grandpa weren't always old fuddy duddies!

...it would be a shame if the bricks were returned...if they need to be removed, they should be reinstalled somewhere on the property as another walkway or perhaps as a wall...I'll bet most people want that brick to stay on the property...having it on your mantle at home is meaningless.

Oh goodness... My dad is such a sucker for things like that. He actually bought three (but one's granite lol) But it's nice to go back and see them. I suggest buying one, but don't be like my dad!!! lol:lol:

So that's why they gave Leave a Legacy vouchers to every single CM at Epcot last month.

The vouchers expire in September (I think) so perhaps they will start selling Walk Around the World then?

Did other WDW CMs get the voucher too?
