Have any of you done this? Do you have to be at the park to set it up? Also is it a permanent display or is it going to be removed?

My family and I did it. They take your picture for it right inside the entrace to Epcot. It does cost money, but I can't remember how much. There was a quarantee from Disney with it that the pictures would be displayed some where on Disney property for an amount of time, but I can't remember how long that was.

one inch square cost 25 bucks each additional tile cost 20 , i believe it is there for 20 years , you get it on the stone plus they send you a copy in the mail to you at home , nice item just make sure your with that person you take pic with as it will be at disney along time lol

Heading for the great escape.
Im sure they guaranteed the tiles would be on show in the park for 20 years. But Iseem to recall much speculation that after 10 yearsor so theyd be moved from the entrance to further back in the park.

Weve got a couple but the second was a freebie with our tickets.

I have one with my girlfriend, but it was free with the package we bought. I think the posts saying that it will be on display for 20 years are correct, but remember that "being on display for 20 years" doesn't necessarily mean being on display where they are now, after a while they will be moved. I think it's a nice touch. I personally would have preferred a tile on the walkway outside MK, but they were all gone before I got there, so I figured this is second best.

If you send me a Private Message with your email address, I can send you some photos of the one I got, and where they are located.

We left a Legacy tile December of 2003. It was part of our package where with our park hoppers we got some pins, lanyards and one choice of several different selections included. Originally we were going to get a free dinner at Planet Hollywood, but when getting our lanyards and pins, the CM suggested the "Leave A Legacy" tile. Since we are 3, and the most you can put on a tile is 2, we elected to have our then 5 year old daughter's image placed on a tile. It was a very good pic and we are so glad we did it. A few weeks after we returned home from WDW we received a nice silver folder presenting our daughter's pic on acetate with its location.
We get to see the actual location in September.
I think it is definately worth it, although I don't recall how long the display will be up. Hopefully when she has kids, she'll be able to show them too.

Yes! My wife and I got one, prime location closest to Spaceship Earth and right on the end. We got it in 99 and we got it with a AA discount. Its not much. I cannot remember exactly what it cost. Its held up well so far. They do give you a disclaimer that they will not replace it if it is destroyed or worn away. :(

We have two. One from 1999 and other we had done in 2004. Both came as a package item. We enjoy every year going and looking and taking the picture of it. Just one of those fun things.

It's a lot like having a brick at MK. When the whole family goes we always get a picture of it with out feet!

My ex and I got them when they were first introduced. We each got our own though. So, even though they are separate pics, we are right next to each other forever...or until they are dismantled in the future, lol.

Despite the above, I think they are cool and fun to take a look at each visit (or show friends).

I remember Disney saying they would be sold out in months. Now nearly 6 years latter it's still not sold out.

As for the moving rumors, everyone and their grandma has heard rumors, from another park, to somewhere else in Epcot (where would there be room?), to Downtown Disney. I don't think you'll see them moving anytime soon, and the cost of transporting them must be really high as they have foundations and all. As they say, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

We got ours with our Honeymoone package in Nov 2003. We have been back once since, and the moniter was down that you find the location with so we were not able to see it. We are going back in December and I will definately be looking them up.

I also want to get one with my parents names on it since this will likely be the last trip they are able to make due to my mothers health. Our trips to Disney were a significant part of my youth so I thought what better way than to "put something in stone" so over the years I can show my children and grandchildren......

We just came back from WDW (9 days.. woohoo!) with our 6 year old daughter. We purchased 2 Legacy pictures, and I recall it costing over $100 for both (I'm thinking $75 for each). With the amount of money that we spent on everything at WDW (we bought another suitcase to take things home!), it's difficult to determine what Legacy alone was. Also, the CMs there were a llittle loopy that day, and we were handed off to 4 people during our purchase of the 2 Legacy pics. I believe that there was an option for just words for a lower price. Also, they take a digital picture there, so I believe that you need to be present for a Legacy picture. They can only fit 2 people per picture (or so we were told), so to get all 3 of my family members in, we HAD to get 2 pics and have them placed side by side on the Legacy wall. We were told after we bought the pics that they would be removed in 15 years (I think that everyone's Legacy will be removed in the year 2020). It would have been nice if they can be there permanently, with that moment in time frozen so that my daughter can perhaps visit with HER children in the future. I would certainly pay extra for that. When we arrived back at home, about a week later we received 2 packages in the mail. Each contained 2 sets of the digital pictures (in transparency form) in a cardboard display with our location number at the bottom. Even with just 15 years, we felt that this was worth the purchase price. Now all of our friends and family that visit Epcot can see our images there. We certainly plan on being back when my daughter is 21 to remember our first trip to WDW as a family.

We got ours in December. My wife and I on one and my daughter on another. There is a discount for AP holders and for DVC members. So make sure to mention it, because the CM's didn't mention it I had to ask.

Disney Vacation Club, and yes, i wish i was a memeber

me too. It seems like they are really promoting it now. I wanted to get more info on it but didn't want to take away valuable park time to do so.
