Le Cellier worth it?

I guess if I had a recommendation though it would be the filet mignon. It was delicious melt in your mouth!:)
It is a place that you must try. Worth it? Possibly, but you need to judge for yourself!;)

This is DH's favorite! I think it's ridiculous that it is two TS credits. I do not think Le Cellier's is comparable to other signature dining experiences. The way I worked our ADRs, we will use the Magic Your Way dining voucher to Planet Hollywood for dinner one night instead of using a TS credit. That will give us the extra credit to use at Le Cellier's. We basically order the same entrees so I ran the numbers and it would be better for us to pay OOP for PH. It's only fair that we eat at DH's favorite restaurant since he let me pick the resort (Contemporary again)!

We enjoyed it, Just wife and I - we went before the most recent menu change for dinner, spent the 2 credits and were not bothered by what we got for the 2 credits

This is the most contentious restaurant decision we currently have here on this forum. Personally, I like Le Cellier and I don't much care if it is one credit or two, but apparently some feel it isn't worth the 2-credit signature status...For those of us who don't do the dining plan and don't really care about the "signature vs single credi" argument, the food is good, the price is pretty much the same as it was before it became a Signature, and there are various and good variations on some foods. Its a steak and potato place, make no mistake. For the record, a strip steak, an appetizer, and a non-alchohol beverage will run you about 55.00. That's pretty much comparable to most restaurants like this nationwide.
The argument really seems to be for the Disney Dining Plan folks -- not the rest of us who don't care.

The argument is for everyone. The DDP charges 2 TS meals which means the pricing for those paying out of pocket is almost twice what you would pay at other WDW resturants. Is the quality of this dinning experience in line with the price? $55 for a steak appy and a soft drink is alot. I better have been WOWed.

Not anymore. Even if you are paying OOP. The dining plan is just the main reason. 2 credits is crazy. It WAS on the high end of the 1 credits. When appetizers were included, along with dessert, it was a great deal. Then they took away the appetizers. Then they hiked the prices by like 1000%. And they took away the prime rib (which was fantastic). And also the mussels appetizer, which my son always liked. For a "steakhouse" there is only like 2 or 3 steaks on the menu, and most people just get the filet. So in my opinion, not anymore.

I last ate there before they changed it to Signature and change the menu up, but when I last ate there, it was a most pleasant experience. The Cheddar Cheese soup is to die for, and I enjoyed my fillet. It was probably my first "fancy" dining experience at a Disney Park, so It certainly raised the bar. Now that they've changed it, I don't know how I'd react. I'm personally leaning towards trying Yachtsman next time around instead of heading back to Le Cellier.

We really love Le Cellier, but not as a signature, thats for sure. I personally dont think any restaurant on Disney property is worth 2 credits per person, unless free dining w/a paid upgrade were offered. We pay OOP, but know its going to be expensive. I honestly have never had a bad meal here and actually look forward to Le Cellier each trip IF we can get a ressie LOL

The last time I ate there was in 2000. And the steaks sucked. I love steak. But they were really horrible. They were edible, but we didn't like the taste or how they prepared them. It was 4 of us and we all ordered steaks. They all tasted bad. I've never gone back. I suppose things might have changed over the last 13 years though. But, I'd rather make them myself than eat there. This is just one man's opinion though.

This is not true. The prices went up slightly when they changed to signature, but they ARE NOT DOUBLE what other restaurants cost. 35-50 dollars for lunch at a sit-down per person is pretty much the standard almost across the board in all upscale restaurants at WDW...which is the same at LC...

I do think this argument is primarily credit-based for people on the DDP...I always pay out of pocket and I have NEVER found the restaurants to be out of the same range. Overpriced, yes, as one would expect in a theme park, but out of the range for people who prefer fine dining, absolutely not.

We at there last year. The potato cheese soup is everything that it was hyped up to be. I could eat a five gallon bucket of the stuff in one sitting. ;)

My steak was good but the one that I had the previous year at Yachtsman's Steakhouse was better. What was surprising was the scallops that my wife had for her entree. Those were the best scallops that either of us has ever had, anywhere!

It's really tough to say. Like many dining experiences...much of this is a rather subjective matter. I might find it to be very average and therefore not worth it, while someone else would tell you to try it and you won't regret it. It's this debate that made me try it just so I could form my own first hand experience based opinion. It may just be one of those things that you have to try once to see where your opinion lies.

We ate here in September, our bill was $109 for two people, we had one cup of soup, each had steak, each had dessert and 1 beer and 1 Cosmo. We were on the ddp so only paid for the soup and drinks. The food was excellent! I just think there are other signature restaurants I would like to try and use 2 credits on
