Le Cellier: truffle butter or bust?

Sorry but Le Cellier is a rip off now, I dont think their food or menu is worth the outrageous prices steak or no steak. You can go to Cali Grill for almost same price and have the perfect meal prepared to perfection. Disney ruined Le Cellier.

How? Stacking the tables so close? The weakened menu? The quality of service? The screaming children?

I've had it. If I had to pick my top 3 meals that IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (not YOU people) but I have had in Disney it would go...

1. Cali Grill Tomato Butter Filet
2. Mushroom Filet Le Cellier (2010 era)
3. Surf n Turf Narcoossee's

I have had those three (along with a few others) and totally agree. 3 of the best meals I have had. I am going to the Yacht for the first time in about six weeks on cash. As it seems we may have similar likes, what would you recommend? (Sorry to hijack NJ.)

If it aint gonna "kill" you or your pockets, I would do the Porterhouse. It was VERY good. A TON of food as well. I loved it!

We have been to Le Cellier three times now and I have to be honest I don't see the appeal. Yachtsman, which is staple of our trips, is hands down the better restaurant particularly since Le Cellier was given Signature status. In fact the last trip and our present trip we are skipping Le Cellier all together.

Maybe one day if the word gets around enough people will stop going there and maybe it will force management's hand to re-evaluate what doesn't work there. In a perfect world they'd reduce the number of table services they had, reduce the number of tables and get back to basics. Alas, they won't because for everyone one of us that complains there are 10 more ready to take the reservation.

I think the decision to make it a signature restaurant was based on its popularity more than its food and service. Disney simply looked at the multiple reviews of it being one of the best non-signature restaurants and one table credit they thought it would be just as good as a signature. That logic failed to take into account the fact that the restaurant was popular as 1 ts credit because it was providing "more bang for your buck" but as a 2 ts credit it underachieves.

We ate at Le Cellier several years ago - before they made it signature - was very good. I have heard that it is not what it used to be from family members that have been there more recently. Yachtsman is incredible, we ate there in 2011. One of the top meals that we have had anywhere! I would stick with Yachtsman if it was me.

My perfect dining day would be:
breakfast at Kona
lunch at LTT
dinner @ Yachtsmans
That's a lot of food at Disney in one day! We usually only eat twice (plus snacks). If I could eat that much your scenario is perfect! Love those pineapple macadamia pancakes at Kona.

Maybe you can do it by just eating the best thing on the menu at each place, such as Tonga Toast at Kona, Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake at LTT and Truffle Mac and Cheese at Yachtsman. I know it may be taboo to say the best thing on Yachtsman's menu is not steak but a side dish but that could make the fantasy easier to accomplish and still probably give the American Heart Association fits.

Yup, filet with Spinach risotto was downright terrible (not the filet, but the sauce and the sides). I will not be ordering it again. It's sad that they took a great dish like the mushroom filet and ruined it. We ate there in June and may not go back in August. We will be eating at Yachtsmans. While we have had bad meals there in the past and it is not one of my favorites, what we get is usually pretty good.

We had lunch at Le Cellier last weekend, and sadly, that will be the last time we eat there unless they make major changes. The menu has become extremely limited, and the prices have doubled (or so they seem). Food quality has retreated, and quantities have decreased. We mentioned it to our server, and she said that it all changed once they made it a Signature rest. for two credits. (We don't use the food plan, so that is not an issue for us.) The other interesting event was that the restaurant didn't start seating until 12:30, we were able to walk up and get in (our reservations are somewhere in the ether), and about half of the tables were empty. We've never seen it that quiet.

Tell that picky eater to suck it up and not ruin it for the group... Picky eaters are the worst to travel with or go to dinner with bc it is all about them and not the group...
I would but she is already sucking it up for our meal at Cali Grill (the nerve!) So I was trying to pick another signature meal that she would enjoy. :(

Sorry, but I don't think that's quite fair. Just because SOME picky eaters may expect the group to make dining decisions around them doesn't mean we all do that. At 31 years old, I have known toddlers that have liked a bigger variety of foods than I do. But I can usually find *something* to work with at just about every restaurant. And you know what? If I don't find a full meal at the restaurant that I like, I find a snack later and make do. Not the end of the world.

@PrincessNelly_NJ has she seen the menu for Yachtman?
