We are going to be at Disney in a few weeks and have reservations at 2:45 on Cinco De Mayo. I had not thought about it until today but there is a different lunch and dinner menu.
I guess my question is can I order dinner at 2:45? I was wanting to try the prime rib but guess I will have to wait till next time.
Thanks

Dinner menus will start about 3 to 3:30 and it is really up to the discretion of the restaurant if they will let you order from the dinner menu before that time. Since you are so close to the cut off and dinner prices are higher (which results in a higher tip) it would behoove them to let you order from the dinner menu. If you get to Le Cellier right at your ADR time chances are that you will not be sat until around 3. At that point just ask your server if you can order from the dinner menu and hope for the best.

This is the first trip to Disney in 12 yrs without kids for me and my wife and we are looking forward to having a few drinks on Cinco De Mayo at Epcot. Would like to get a little pre-coctail padding and also want to take full advantage of Le Cel.
Richard,
Thank you for your help. We got or packet Saturday and will be using Kingdom for sure in the future.
20 days and counting.

You are quite welcome. Let me know how the trip goes especially the DDP you guys got. My wife and I have been contemplating doing a trip similar to yours in the not so distant future.

I just called looking for reservations for October and was offered a dinner reservation at 3:15. I said to the CM, wouldn't 3:15 be the lunch menu, and she told me that in the system it was showing as dinner. I always thought that dinner started at 4.

I wound up taking a 3:55 dinner ressie on a different day. Maybe it depends on the time of year, as blackthidot says he's seen dinner offered as early as 2:30.

Former habitant of teh cellar here. As far as I know dinner service still starts at 4pm at Le Cellier, we can't offer items from the dinner menu during lunch because the kitchen is not set up to serve that food during lunch, it usually switches over around 3:30 to start getting ready for dinner at this particular location.

Some days dinner will be served all day, like Christmas, Easter etc...

Hope this helps. PS Prime Rib sandwich is really good!

I have heard a lot of great things about the sandwich selection. The only problem is that we are on the dinning plan and I can't see getting a burger in place of a steak. We may end up paying for lunch out of pocket and trying to pick up an additional TS while we are there. The only problem will be getting in somewhere else with 3 weeks left.
The only thing we have going for us is Touring plans has that as being a pretty slow week. Level 4 and 5 crowds for the 4 days we are there.
We are going to Cape May,Boma,Hoop De Doo all for the first time while there.

Oooh ok I understand. Well there is always the option of saving your table service credit for another location. The lunch menu does offer 2 steaks: The filet and the ney york strip, so there is that option as well. If you like I could help make some recomendations or reservations for another restaurant during your stay?

We are trying new places this year without the kids. I am not sure yet if we are going to have enough time to add a TS. We are going to Sea World on Monday and might look for a resort TS that night. The more I think about it I might check Maya Grill later today. We really enjoyed our meal there 2 yrs ago and it has a wonderful atmosphere.

Have you thought about going to one of the 2 credit signature restaurants like California Grill, Artist Point or Jiko for dinner?

We are already doing Hoop De Doo so I did not want to double up on Sig dining. Also, we did Cali Grill in December and to be honest it was just ok. I am far from a slob but the atmoshpere the night we went just made us feel out of place.
I might cancel Boma and surprise my wife with Narcoosees. That by far is our favorite but do not get to go much.

Jiko or Sanna at AKL and the AKLV would be a good choice as well providing of course that you guys like the menu which can be a bit on the out there side.

I keep the WDW dining # in my cell phone, and called it numerous times during my August 2009 trip (Sick Wife and kids after we arrive) because of the change ups. They were able to suggest TS locations, and lock them down quickly for me.
