It was close to (if not) freezing while we were down in November, during thanksgiving. I love the cold. Lived in Colorado in winter park. 14° was winter average with the wind chill.
My wife is from Florida. It drops to the lower 60s and she is getting bundled up.

We live in south Georgia. I'll take the cold over the hot summer's any day. Any day!

It is amazing when you go to WDW this time of year the number of people in shorts who look like they are freezing.

You'll see them in shorts and flip flops. It'll be in the 40s or 50s. You can tell they assumed because they were going to Florida that it would be warm. And they are obviously cold.

Just flabbergasts me that people don't bother to check the weather before heading down. Not like it's a hard thing to do. You can pull a device out of your pocket and it'll check for ya.

At first I read this as "Lawyers and lawyers." Cold weather, I can deal with.
:joyfull: So did I!

We were in Disney in january of 2010 and WOW it was cold. Around 32 degrees some days I think and it ended up being close to 60s and 70s at the end of the 10 days. And to think we went then to escape the brutal cold of the North East...

Low 40's is the coldest I think we have encountered in WDW. It was only really cold on the boat back to POFQ, when the breeze coupled with the water probably made it feel 10 degrees colder.

If you're British, then you get determined that no matter what, central Florida is going to be hot.

I don't assume if I go in winter that it's going to be hot - but I sure hope it is.
When packing I try not to even entertain the possibility that it may be freezing for a couple of days.

In some ways we have it quite decent here, it rarely falls below 0, but are lucky if it hits the high 20s more than a couple of times in summer.

Anything that gets close to 20c+ here sees people out in shorts and t-shirts so when heading for Florida nobody wants to think about taking warm clothes.

To be fair, off all the times I have been in Florida in the winter (probably 4 or 5 times for 2-3 weeks each), I can only recall it once being so cold I didn't want to be out in the parks. That only lasted for less than 3 days - the next day it was 80+ !

Sure there have been plenty of cool days i.e. where you don't really want to go to the pools or water parks, but the rest of the time has called for no more than jeans and a light top, probably with a light jacket.

That's what I love about living between Baton Rouge and New Orleans: not too hot, not too co....wait...predicting light snowfall for Mardi Gras?

SHHHHHEEEEE---

That means don't be the idiot that thinks he or she is super cool bc you rode Splash Mountain in 20° weather. Lol

Isn't Splash currently closed for its annual refurb?

The Temperatures at night you mentioned are warm compare to where I live. It is going to be 3 degrees below zero where I live tonight.

The coolest I went to WDW in was in Early December of 2010. I was below 30 degrees for one of the nights.

-35 wind chills in rochester ny tomorrow; constant roof raking everyday to keep the ice damming from coming in the house; so I would take a cold Orlando anyday

I am a floridian and this is how I see it. Florida summers are like northern winters, you stay indoors. Except that we can still drive around and leave the house :).

(bolded) - Go ahead - rub it in :p

It was either good karma or just cruel (that I am here and not there) that when I came in from clearing my roof of snow, freezing my zip-a-dee-doo-dah off, first commercial I see is for WDW......................

Disney is making a killing on blankets, and sweatshirts. People were buying them left and right when we were there. But most of those people walking around freezing never think to go to walmart or target right outside the property.

Me too. I thought it was going to be one of those threads. ;)

But I was pleasantly surprised! (Maybe a little disappointed)

On the topic though, yikes. Meanwhile, I saw it was 80° in San Francisco.

Am I the only one who thought this thread was going to be about a delicious and gigantic cake?
