Pre-Trip Lawdy, Lawdy, Look Who's Turning 40 - PTR

I was really tempted to call this the “What the heck are we doing?!?!!?-PTR,” but the reality…this trip is my 40th birthday present to me. Still, it’s one crazy convoluted mess, so at some point you’ll probably catch on to the reason behind the secondary title.

WHO...

Ok...enough about that...there will plenty of time to address the planning insanity.
If you're new to my reports, I'm Sandy...

9037036919_cff2edd2e5_n.jpg

I've been going to WDW since 1985 - even lived in Florida for a while. Soooooo, let's just say I've been to WDW a number of times. :D Beyond that, my 40th is about a month before this trip and this is my gift to me. I'd considered going on my actual 40th; however, I promised myself that our next trip would involve MNSSHP...so, September it is. And if you're familiar with the Cake Talk...I promise you....THERE WILL BE CAKE! In fact, there will be 2 CAKES! But more on that later.

Also, I'm usually the one behind the camera, so you won't be seeing much of me when it comes to the actual TR. Hey, I at least take TONS of pictures (like thousands!). And if you do see me, I doubt you will ever see my hair down since it's usually up on top of my head in the heat and humidity.
Like this...
9036986067_862e1be670_m.jpg

...although, I may add a flower to make it ... well ... cute.

Hey, we live in Texas so heat is our norm, but we also approach it wisely and hair up like this is a great way to keep cool when not wearing a hat to keep my head from baking in the sun.

OK, enough about me (for now)...let's talk about the girls.

284299_10201120529723496_1246768217_n.jpg

The brunette is Kendall...she'll be turning 7 about a month before the trip...and the blonde is Sammie...who will be turning 5 a little over a month after the trip. This will be the girls' 4th trip to WDW.

The girls are total characters. Seriously. Kendall is a drama queen, but insists she's no diva (yeah right!). I could be really mean and post a video of a more recent meltdown, but I'll spare her. Sammie is our tomboy and quiet little trouble maker. Just recently, she tried to see how much toilet paper she could flush down each toilet in the house. Too bad I noticed we were suddenly down 6 rolls AFTER her experiment.

Next up...DH...

He likes, but does not love WDW. He's made it very clear that he's bored with trips to Disney. I told him I'd planned this trip for just me and the girls, but he was invited to come if he'd like. Well, when the first of two SWA fare sales hit, I cornered him on the matter and he agreed to go. Ultimately, I think he has fun and enjoys seeing the girls having such a good time and experiencing new things as they grow. So, I spent several months of having this trip booked not knowing if he'd be joining us... and if things go well job wise...he may still have to bow out. Soooo...really, who knows.

Beyond us...

We are actually being joined by 5...YES 5 ... more family members on day 3 of our trip. My parents will be joining us along with my brother's family. They all live in south Florida, so it's a fairly easy trip up for them. Well, assuming my brother & fam are still able to make it come trip time. They have a bunch of stuff going on and while they've booked lodging and all have orders in for discounted tickets through their employers (perks of living in FL), there's still a chance they'll back out. So, if DH has to stay home and if they back out...we could go from a party of 9 to a party of 5. Insanity I tell you!

When and Where...
Well, the when is fairly drama free...

Sept. 19 - 23

I just rebooked our air, so our arrival and departure changed, but I think it's for the best...since it saved us an additional $512. So instead of arriving at 11:45a, we're arriving around 2:50pm. I don't see that being a huge deal. On the flipside, we'll be getting a lot more time on our last day. I think our original flight had us leaving MCO around 2pm, but now we're leaving just after 7pm. So, more time with my family and more time to play on our last day.

So, that's the when, but the where is complicated...and still bugs me. :(

We were originally booked at the Contemporary...my fave. I was hoping fall discounts would mirror summer discounts so I could splurge on night 1 and stay in an MK facing room in the tower...then switch to the garden wing...but NO...the Sept discounts did not mirror the summer ones. On top of that, Mousesavers (via Small World Vacations) posted some incorrect info on the discounts for the Contemporary. They posted that MK view was 5% (which is correct) and standard rooms were 20% (which was incorrect). I put off calling by a day b/c I didn't know what to do. Overnight, I decided to switch to WL with a 30% off discount since it's a greater savings and it's DH's fave. The % never came up when I was on the phone with Disney that day, but I had to call about something else the next day and found out that the Contemporary discount was 30% for all non-MK facing rooms. Unfortunately, everything in the garden wing was gone and a full trip in the tower was more than I wanted to spend...sooooooo, WL it was. I did complain to Mousesavers and they corrected the problem, but I wonder if I would have gotten the room I wanted at the 30% discount if they'd posted the correct info.

So, now we're staing in WL. Most of our trip was geared for staying at the Contemporary, but WL isn't a huge transition. We'll be staying in a bunk bed room with a woods view. I figure at least it'll make it fun for the kids. I've also asked for 5th floor on the MK side.

Far from a good picture, but we had a nice view from our standard view room the last time we stayed at WL.
5264648958_2f2ed4cf37_m.jpg

I know most people love WL and I shouldn't whine, but I really didn't care for the bedding on our last visit. The room also felt very cramped. Don't get me wrong, the resort is stunning...I just had some issues. Imagine that. I am also wondering how it will feel to have a non-holiday stay at WL. Last time we stayed there...we had a room over the lobby and this beauty greeted us every time we left our room.

5265579207_4f85628682.jpg

Still, we had a great time popping over for drinks at Trout Pass during our summer trip in 2011.... and clearly, there was no tree up at that point.

We are also going to try going stroller free this trip and should have less to bring clothing wise since it's a warm weather trip....so, hopefully that will help the room not feeling as cramped.

Honestly, the real lodging drama is the rest of the family. My parents and brother also lost out on the Contemporary discount, feel that 20% is too little for the Poly, and refuse to stay again at WL... so they're now staying at the Dolphin. Seriously---what's going on here!!!!????!!!! This is really putting a monkey wrench in all of our early morning plans. We'll manage, but not without certain people whining about it. I guess at least they got a really awesome AAA rate...like under $150/nt.

COMING UP...

Calling it a night, but coming up:
Dining
Cakes
Surprises - and to think I said I'd take a break from these
Special Goodies for the Girls
MNSSHP
The Tickets
The School Issues
...and a host of other things.

Beautiful family Sandy! Looking forward to reading about more drama, I mean pre-trip report....LOL.

I promise to post more drama and details in just a little bit. Gotta pace myself!

Looking forward to reading about your adventures Sandy! Your TR's never fail to entertain me! and is Kendall really turning 7?1 my goodness, it feels like you were just writing the Tr for her 5th (I think it was 5th?) birthday trip! Time flies!!

And I'm so glad there will be CAKE!!!!! :)

I know! I feel like she's still 5. :(

I am really hoping Chef Brian is able to do this cake. I have a back up plan, but I don't like it nearly as much. I also get to work with Pat on cake 2...hoping it goes better than our previous encounter. I'll probably post the prelim. cake stuff later on this weekend...but won't have the final sketches until next month.

Sandy, gorgeous family!!!! Your girls are getting so big!!! 40?!?!?!?!??! girl, I'd say 30, you look mahhhhvelous!!!!!! Your hubby sounds like mine LOL, but he lives by the creedo "If Momma ain't happy, nobody's happy", so we do Disney.... often. Can't wait to read more!!!

Thanks Deb! And I needed that...because right now, I'm kind of feeling like I'm 60. Slept the wrong way and the muscles are a mess. I've got another plan to pacify DH with vacay stuff...more on that in a little bit! :D

Can't wait to read more about this trip!! I was hoping we would be able to go this fall for my 40th also! Unfortunately, I don't think that will be happening.:( I'm continuing to keep my fingers crossed though! At least I have our June 2014 cruise/WDW vacation to look forward to!

I'll have my fingers crossed that you guys are able to swing a trip for your 40th...if not, you still have a great vacay to look forward to. I know it's a ways away, but it's something on the horizon.:)

...starting back up again...

DINING...
Many of you already know this, but I'm kind obsessed with TS meals...from booking them to having them. I also HATE having to call for ADRs or anything ADR related, so I have been doing my best to adjust to the new website. Maybe it's because the last 3 trips (and trips I worked on for friends) have been booked via the old website, but I find myself going back through the British site since it's in the old format. Really though, I haven't been doing very much of it this time since I don't have the desire to stalk this time around (something must be wrong with me). In any event, here's what we've got (which has been updated a bit since day 180)...

Sept 19-
Dinner @ Artist Point/6:10pm

Sept 20-
Breakfast @ 1900 PF/9:30am
Dinner @ 1900 PF/4:30pm

Sept 21-
Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's/7am
Lunch @ Via Napoli/11:30am
Snack @ Sci Fi/3:15pm
Dinner @ Kouzzina/6:30pm

Sept 22-
Breakfast @ Crystal Palace/8:05am
Dinner @ 'Ohana/5:20pm

Sept 23-
Breakfast @ Kona/9:20am
Lunch @ Raglan Road/12:15pm

Dining thoughts...

Artist Point: I've been so up in the air about this. I think I've had 8 different meals booked for this night. Right now I'm torn between AP, Citrico's and Kona. I have wanted to try Citrico's since 2010, but it's never worked out...and now that I have a chance, the menu is no longer screaming to me. On the other hand, AP's menu is saying "SANDY....you want venison carpaccio and halibut." I actually sat down with all 3 menus and counted how many things I'd order and AP won...but there's still over 3 months to change my mind.

DOUBLE 1900 PF: I feel silly doing it for both breakfast and dinner, but it's my favorite character breakfast...really just for the beauty pictured below...
6062789459_c377a1384c.jpg

Still...we've had some great breakfasts here and some of our best character interaction. Sheesh, last visit (2011) Mary Poppins sang for the girls and Kendall challenged Tigger to a bounce off. I think that was also when we encountered tickling Alice. As for dinner...never done it and I think the antics of the stepsisters should get everyone pretty pumped for MNSSHP.

Chef Mickey's: This meal is going to be a pain...just in getting there. My parents and brother/fam will likely need to drive from the Dolphin to make this and we're going to have to pray that the 6:45a boat from WL is running on schedule. Beyond that...we love this meal and think it's a perfect time slot for any park day since you can be done by 8am. This meal is exceptionally special to me for another THREE reasons.
1. My nephew Jake, who turned 1 this week, will be visiting WDW for the first time this trip. Jake is kind of a miracle baby. My brother and SIL were thinking they'd need to adopt after 2 failed IVFs, so right there he was a shock. SIL also has a seizure disorder that made the pregnancy high risk since her meds don't mix well. In the end, she wound up having Jake 2 months early...he spent 2 weeks in the NICU, but she was also pretty sick. She put on something like 9lbs of water weight in less than a 24 hr period, lungs started filling w/fluid, etc. So, very special that he's now healthy...and this will be his very first MICKEY MEETING!!!!!

2. This meal is part of the surprises for the girls. You'll have to wait until the surprise section for that. ;)

3. This is where I get MY CAKE!!!!! Oh yeah! LOVE LOVE LOVE my main design...and really hoping Chef Brian is game for it...but more on that when I get to cakes.

Via Napoli & Sci Fi: I'm not expecting either to be full blown meals...more snacking to try certain experiences.

Kouzzina: Always wanted to try this and it's convenient for Epcot and DHS, sooooo should be yummy. Thought about having my mom's cake here, but BW Bakery usually won't work with food allergies.

Crystal Palace: It's prepark opening- what's not to love!?!?! My parents and brother have also never done this, so this is another attempt to win them over on cool things you can do at MK that they've never done. I also think Jake will love meeting Pooh. I listed his bday on this ADR, so hopefully he'll get the traditional card and cupcake.

'Ohana: This is my mom's bday meal. Her bday is actually the week before - so it's fitting. She'll be getting a cake which I'll also detail in the cake section. I offered other options to her, but this really appealed to her...so, 'Ohana it is.

Kona: Why do I feel like this is going to fall through? Well, I really want to try Tonga Toast so I hope not.

Raglan Road: Another on my must do list and now that we have a MUCH later departure time, we can swing some DTD time on our last day.

Next Up...the touring plan...

Sooooo...what R Ya Doin'????

Well, day 1 ... not much. We were originally landing around 11:45am, but I rebooked our flights on SWA's recent fare sale because saving $512 and getting in at 2:50pm sounded like the better plan. Yes, I know we've driven the last few trips, but we have to fly this time. More on that when we get to school issues. Soooooo, after we take DME to WL and settle in, we're going to get cleaned up for dinner. After dinner, the plan is to head to the Poly beach, grab some drinks, maybe catch the water pageant and most definitely get to see Wishes while the kids play in the sand.

Day 2 - Sleep in a little and then head to the GF for breakfast. After breakfast, we plan to head back to WL to swim, relax, play...nothing serious. We'll then get on our Halloween costumes (more on that later), head over to the GF for dinner, and then MK for MNSSHP.

Day 3 - We have that early breakfast at Chef Mickey's...and this is when we'll first meet up with the rest of my family. They'll be getting in the day before, but we won't have a chance to see them. After breakfast, we're off to Epcot. Most of us will be going by monorail, but I think my dad and brother will likely drive their vehicle back to the Dolphin and then meet us at Epcot. We will probably skip out after Via Napoli to head to DHS. The girls will want to do Star Tours and they MAY try TOT. I'm also hoping to get to Characterpalooza and pop into Sci Fi for milkshakes and maybe a snack...before heading to Kouzzina for dinner. We'll be going back into Epcot for Illuminations.

Day 4 - The bulk of this day is in MK, but we MAY hop to DHS since both kids want to try Dinosaur and Kendall may be tall enough for Everest. Seriously, little thing that she is may be 44" by this trip! I feel bad since so many of her classmates are well beyond 48". Oh well, that's just how she is. Ultimately, I think we need a break this day since it's EMH in MK and I'd like to partake. After dinner at 'Ohana we'll be back in MK for MSEP, Wishes, and hopefully all of EMH.

Day 5 - Our flight back to Houston doesn't leave until 7:05pm...so, aside from eating, it's going to be a day at DTD and maybe pool time.

Yes, it's a short trip, but it's the most we can do at this time of year. Why?

School Issues!!!!
Texas attendance laws are pretty strict and our school's new VP has tried to take this to a whole new level. Children may have no more than 2 unexcused absences in a 60 day period. Parents can face misdemeanor charges for any violation. Now, most schools don't pursue this, but the threat is out there and this new VP likes sending notices...even for non-issues.

We picked this weekend because the 23rd is teacher training day, so no school for the kids. It works well for WDW too since unlike Columbus Day weekend (our only other option), we won't see crowd surges or price increases. Still, it means the kids are out for 2 days...which is the limit.

This past year, Kendall had 2 unexcused absences (our Nov trip), but they chose to consider 2 other things as unexcused. It would NEVER hold up in court or even with the board, and the outcome of it all was more insane than the notice that started this. They marked her for an unexcused absence when she left early to see the doctor. We had a note + she left at 2:30pm (school ends at 3)...so she was counted present attendance-wise and had a valid excuse. The 2nd...all the classes had parties the last day of school before Christmas break. School ended at 12:30p and the office and teachers were encouraging parents to sign out the kids once the festivities wound down. I signed Kendall out around 12:10pm...they counted it as an unexcused absence!!!!! I fought with the VP over it and rather than excuse the 2 legit outs...they excused the 2 days she missed for our Nov trip. INSANITY!!!!

I spoke to some other parents about it and we all got notices like this...and nobody got in trouble...but I really don't want to come back to a fight over such things, so we're keeping this trip within the 2 days allowed under the law. Now just hoping her 2nd grade teacher is as fabulous as her first.

Next up...SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!!!.... :D:D:D

I must say I am a little bummed you won't be there until probably when we are leaving. :( I know it will all work out and be fabulous though! But you are a worrier just like me!

I know...I thought about that. I thought about keeping the original outbound flight, but I just couldn't justify it when the savings was in the hundreds. Based on previous DME experiences, I would guess that we'll arrive at WL around 4:30pm. The SWA credits should at least come in handy for the winter trip (non-Disney) I'm planning for the family.

So, now that we've established why we have to fly- i.e. school timing for attendance issues (and that really doesn't hurt my feelings too much since the drive through the FL panhandle last trip was BRUTAL), let's talk SURPRISES!!!!!

Last time I was posting about trips and surprises...I vowed NEVER AGAIN! Or, at least not for a long long time. Yeah...famous last words. :D First, I found myself watching the video of the 2011 surprise quite a bit...

Then I found myself watching my video for the 2012 surprise reveal for last trip and wishing it hadn't flopped...

And then I found myself watching these with the girls. Turns out, they really do like being surprised and want to be surprised again (not sure how that works...asking for a surprise?). They also gave me some insight into the failed surprise - which happened to be on par with a number of my thoughts on the matter. So, before I go over the plan...let me tell you were I think we went wrong last time...

1. Too much lag time... there were 9 days between the surprise reveal and the trip for 2012. 2011 worked well because there was instant gratification...i.e. we were there!

2. Wrong cheerleaders... my inlaws are great people, but they are not WDW fans and didn't really play into the excitement. While DH isn't a huge fan either, he can at least hype it up when it's just us.

3. Too Complicated... the gift trail was fun, the box of balloons cool too and the video was a nice final touch- but it confused them. What's funny, they wound up loving and using pretty much everything on that trail ... even played in the box that had the mouse ear balloons and pretended to recreate the moment, but it was just too much for the reveal. So, simplicity is the key...well, at least the part that they see.

So, this surprise will have no wait time...it will only be me & DH...and it will be very simple. I've also built myself a bit of a cushion to help.

FIRST- I told them I'd like to go back, but there are budget concernes. I've warned them that if we do go, they may have very little warning because I may not know until right before we're ready to leave.

SECOND- I told them the plan is to try and go around Halloween if I can pull it off. So, I got input on Halloween costumes "in case" we get to go. Sammie wanted Batman ... like I said- Tomboy! I suggested we pick a family costume and as soon as Kendall learned that there's a pink Batgirl...the Batman family was born. :D

60906.jpg
Sammie
38211.jpg
Kendall
21118.jpg
DH (he's fighing it)

and me...
803277.jpg

I do think it's kind of funny that Batman is DC, but Marvel is Disney.

THIRD - I asked them thoughts on pretty much everything else. I asked them if a bunkbed room at WL would be OK if I couldn't get a good price on the Contemporary. I asked them if 1900 PF dinner was OK since we'd already tried BOG. I asked Sammie if a Pooh meal was a must (since he's her fave). I asked them if it was OK if we skipped a regular princess meal. I asked them which was more important...TS dining or nice hotel. And so on. I told them it didn't mean I was booking a trip, but that at least I'd know what they liked if I am able to book something. Soooo, I at least was able to get all sorts of opinions without ruining things.
The only troublesome point in this plan - the dog.
582183_4305658647801_2047266392_n.jpg

This is our Daisy doggy and she will need to be boarded at "doggy camp" for this trip to happen. Our flight doesn't take off until like 9:30a, the boarding facility is sort of on the way to the airport, and they open at 7am...so we "could" try and get her in that morning, but with rush hour...it's really going to be cutting it close. So, I'm probably going to have to take her the day before and make up a lie. It can't be anything involving the vet since the girls will get upset and worry about her health, so I'm thinking about telling the girls that DH and I decided last minute to go to Vegas for the weekend. DH and I have a milestone anniversary next month and while we're planning on NOLA, we had also discussed Vegas...so they will probably buy it. It will also enable us to pack without having to hide that from them.

Soooo, here's how it's likely to go down...

1. Pick the girls up at school and tell them about mommy and daddy's fake trip (and that they'll be staying at grandma's- DH's mom)
2. Drop the dog off at boarding
3. Start packing
4. Put out their school clothes (uniforms) for the next day and put them to bed
5. Finish packing after they're in bed and add all of the Disney/DME tags to everything
6. Change out their uniforms with Disney shirts (see below)
7. Put Disney carry on bags by their bed sides (see below)
8. Wake up early to pack up the car with just about everything except purse & their carryon bags
9. Wake them up at normal time for school and have them realize that mommy has swapped out their uniforms for Disney stuff. The carry on bags also serve another purpose...their blankies and plush can easily be jammed into their new bags + the bags will be holding their costumes, pins, lanyards, and some other Disney goodies.
10. As soon as they're dressed and their carryons are packed up...we'll hand them some food for the road and head out for the airport.

Their CD player also has park music in it, so like the first surprise...we may wake them up to the Welcome Medley.

So, aside from the lie concerning the dog, it's fairly simple-it's instant gratification-and no inlaw "cheer" leaders.

CARRY ON BAGS

I was at the airport with my parents last month and fell in love with the sort of egg shaped carry on bags made by Heys. Thanks to @melmood2000 I was able to get one of them on QVC for a great price. I got the other on ebay...really not too bad...just $3 more.

Kendall's

f09825_848.102
f09825.002
f09825.003

I even made sure I got the right characters. I wouldn't tell the girls why I was asking, but I gave Kendall the choice between princess & Minnie and Sammie the choice between Pooh and Toy Story.
I also want to have special Disney shirts to swap out for their uniform shirts. I'm thinking Halloween mouse ears, but I haven't been able to decide on a specific style. These are some of my faves...

il_170x135.270827129.jpg
il_170x135.429600024_9g3j.jpg

There are more I really liked, but I'm leaning towards something with a bat (hence why 3 out of 4 are bats) since we are going to be the bat family!
I'll probably add a few more details to the main surprise...like maybe some new pins, new games for their tablet and DS, etc.
Did you just say MAIN SURPRISE???
Why yes, yes I did!

The girls are going to be left to assume that it's just the 4 of us...and that's how it will be on the first 2 days... but all that changes on day 3. My parents, my brother, and my SIL + Jake will be meeting us at the Contemporary for our breakfast on Saturday...and while I don't know exactly how it will play out...I imagine we'll be getting in line to check into Chef Mickey's and either the girls will suddenly spot grandma and grandpa OR grandma and grandpa will approach us and VOILA- SURPRISE!!!!

Next up...Cakes (YAY!!!!), Ticket fears, Travel Concerns, and so on...

Can't blame you! Saving cash is always good!

My friend is going to keep an eye out for future fare sales (they never send me emails on this) just in case air for our dates drop again. i.e. there's a chance that original flight might drop. If it does...I'll likely switch back to it. However, after 2 fare sales...not sure how lucky we'll get that a third will hit...but ya never know.

Your video's made my heart stop! It was like watching my girls ( don't look the same but are the same age difference and same hair coloring) just like your girls my oldest now 16 was the drama then and still is :) and my other DD now 13 almost 14 is and was just a little pistol (wouldn't change that about her).

I am totally amazed about your school system, that's just nuts. Here in Indiana a vacation is an excused absence.

Have a wonderful time..can't wait to hear about your trip!

Oooh, I'm so jealous! I turn forty in August and was really hoping for a birthday trip too. It is not looking likely though because my husband recently started a new job so vacation time is pretty slim. And he's kind of like your husband, really wants to expand our vacation horizons. I'm still holding out hope for some good October discounts and maybe combine it with my daughter's 5th birthday. Fingers crossed. For now I'll just live vicariously through your planning.

I love your trip reports, your girls are absolutely adorable. Can't wait to hear about the cake plans.

I'm also a member of the 40 club this year, but I'm not the president. ;) :D

I'm just trying to embrace it like a big kid. Or maybe it's denial to celebrate 40 at a place that makes me act like a giddy 8 year old?

"We're at Wally World!"

Hahahaha, YES, Griswalds for the win!

It's funny because that road trip really did feel "Vacation"-esque at times. I recall channeling my inner-Clark at several points on the way to and from WDW. DH's Clark moment was the worst...led us on a wild goose chase through Lake Charles, LA because he thought there just had to be more to the place. Yeah...not so much. ;)

I'm still shocked that we pulled off the surprise in that first video. We drove from TX to FL...even stopped for the night about 3mi outside of WDW the night before check in and managed to keep it all from them. Of course, it helped that they couldn't read yet ;) It was a relief after months of stealth planning. I'm hoping they still have as much fun w/all of this when they're 16 and 14 :) I'm so not ready for those ages, but it will be here before we know it!

The attendance issues make me crazy. It's not like I want to take her out of school for extreme amounts of time, but penalizing us for a dr excused absence that was a mere 30 min missed at the end of the day and a school promoted early out 20 min before Christmas break is ridiculous. The note concerning the absences for this trip will say that we're going to FL for grandma's birthday and we flew out on Thursday to save nearly $1,000 on travel. They may not like it, but it's partly the truth. I'd thought about flying out Friday morning, but rates go up considerably.

Thanks! :)

I hope I don't regret not being there on my actual bday, but my friends feel I shouldn't isolate the celebration to a singular day. Hence why I started celebrating in May with a trip up to Syracuse with a bunch of sorority sisters. Nothing like spending a weekend pretending like you're 20 to help usher in 40. Kendall is also an August bday- a week after me- so pushing the trip back at least helps with her bday festivities.

I hate to say it, but I kind of hope DH can't come. It's not that I don't want him with us...I just think he could really use the break and I'd really love for him to find a new job...even if it means he can't join us.

Hoping you get some good discounts for October!
