Cool...already you can sort of get an idea how much a building there will add to the atmosphere of the area.

:sohappy: I'm really excited about this new restaraunt. It's unusual for Disney to make a new restaurant in one of the parks, so this will be fun to see. Lunch time can get busy at Animal Kingdom. They needed a new restaurant really bad.

With the right theming, this restaurant could turn into a big hit for AK. With another restaurant, a couple more attractions, and a suitable night time entertainment option (to use fireworks or not to use fireworks, that is the fervish debate often heard here), it could be an all-day park!

I agree!!! Aniaml Kingdom out of all 4 parks has the most potential. Ak is my favorite park. When I visited the park for the first time I new this was going to be the most popular park in WDW. Attendance is on the rise which is great. AK has had a steady stream of new attractions like Everest, Kali River, Maharaja Jungle Trek, Dino Rama, Nemo and know Yak and Yeti. I think AK is on it's way to being an all day park. Just need a night time show and a few more rides. I had the opportunity of visiting AK at night during the holiday season and it was amazing. AK has the strongest setting at night than the other parks there's something just so mysterious about the park at night. Yak and Yeti is turning out great and it will be a welcomed addition to AK.

whereas i agree with u whole heartedly.
i dont think its possible to make AK an all day park, just simply because of the animals.anyform of night-time show would scare the animals.
i dont think disney wants to do that.
its a shame really because i think that AK looks awesome at nite and it a shame that hardly anyone gets to actually see it properly at nite.
i would like disney to find someway of keeping it open but i dont think that its going to happen anytime soon.

If you have never been to DAK at night - make that your next WDW priority! The top of your list should be Kali River Rapids - that attraction takes you to a completely different world at night, followed by walking around Asia and Expedition: Everest. DAK is, hands down in my opinion, the best nighttime park at WDW - and it's HARD to beat MK and Epcot's World Showcase at night - but DAK does it, and does it very well.

They could easily do a nighttime show - it might take an indoor theater (build Australia and then the Sydney Opera House for a nighttime show...)

Yeah that is always my one complaint when we go is that I wish after we go eat dinner we could go someplace without starting a whole new park. I hate eating at like the Contemporary, which is where 9 out 10 times we stay, and then being bored after dinner and not wanting to fight the club crowds at downtown disney or not wanting to go to magic kingdom to fight the wishes crowds. So something small like AK being open at night to go ride a few rides would in my opinion be a great option! So why not no one says you need an evening show, right? Don't scare the poor animals

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to see a lot of DAK love in this thread. It is the prettiest of the WDW parks and it just seems to get better over time.

Scaring the animals could be an easily avoided problem if they were to make a night-time show, if the show were designed like Fantasmic with limted pyro and no "big blasts", then the show would be possible. Something around the body of water between Asia, Everest, and Dinoland could be done. If they were to use other cool effects like fountains and the mist-projection screens, and lasers/lights, and the only pyro used being "stage pyro" like the ones in Fantasmic (fireworks that do not go extremely high and they do not involve explosions) then this show could be possible without scaring the animals. I think that a show peroformed on an island built in the middle of that lagoon could be quite cool.
