Been a lot of visible progress in the construction pictures we have been seeing the last few days. I think these new pictures leave little doubt that work has started on the mine ride. Also cool to see the deck for the first bridge is going in already. The last picture we saw was just showing the concrete supports.

Another interesting thing in these pictures is that the mysterious wall they were building in the pit on the BatB side has now been complete buried, although in one of the pictures you can see something marking where it is.

You can also see behind the scrim of the Enchanted Grove ( I think thats what its called ) in one of the photos. Looks like they have completely repainted it a tannish brown color.

Good catch! Actually, the roof seems to resemble the "new" Storybook Treats (formly Mrs Potts' Cupboard) roof. Maybe it's getting a similar thatched roof look!?!

Looks like that long straight wall was just something infrastructure related.

Also glad to see the paint work coming along on the BATB area rock work.

Looks like they have made a LOT of progress on the Spinner platforms.

Now I am curious what they are going to do to close the gap that is currently the road between the Little Mermaid queue and the Be Our Guest building.

If you look at the concept art you can see there is supposed to be one more building back there which I believe is going to be for restrooms.

I think the restroom building won't stick out to fill in that space, it'll be just to the right of the currently-yellow Gaston's Tavern in the 2nd photo, pretty much in-line with the Tavern.

My guess is that they'll install some sort of themed gate there to keep maintenance vehicular access into the Expansion area.

Nice progress. Thanks as always to Scott Keating for the photos.

Has anyone been able to confirm that work has indeed been going on inside the Be Our Guest Restaurant and Little Mermaid ( Lee or Raven)?

I am hoping, as I am sure everyone on here is, that they get done ahead of schedule ( without sacrificing theming and quality).

Here is a comparison of the latest aerial photo along with the concept art and original model. From the art and model it looks like that building will entirely block the gap, unless they have changed the plans.

Looks like they will still maintain backstage vehicle access between the wall and the green roofed building.

And I really like the look of the model better than what is shown in the concept art. That castle wall will really make the bathrooms seem secluded and add a lot of depth to the area.

I agree, I like the arch. Looking at this video of the model shown at D23 at around 1:17 you can see what looks like the arch in that area, so they may still be doing it even though it's no in the concept art.

Not old, just vintage.
The aerial photos are great as always. I just came back from WDW yesterday and it is quite obvious from ground level that they have made amazing progress recently. I was shocked to see that they had not only done most of the rock work (or at least the higher level stuff) but it is now being painted. It is really beginning to look like an attraction is back there rather than just random construction. I was also surprised to see how big the Beasts Castle/Be Our Guest area is really going to be. When I was last there in May the Castle part was pretty much done but there now seems like there is so much more built around it...and that is just judging by what 5 foot, 1 inch me could see over the walls.

It also seems like someone has made a conscious effort to expose a fair amount of the construction going on by the new Dumbo and Goofini area. We rode the train and when we stopped to get water at the old Toontown station you could see a lot. The green fabric covering all of the other fencing was mysteriously missing from the top portion of a long stretch of the fence just past the train station. I don't know how long it has been like that but it seemed odd since they have gone to such lengths to conceal it pretty much everywhere else.

The white sculpted foam(?) area from the other day seems to be all filled in. Is this supposed to look like some place down the river from the forest?

No i believe the white sculpted foam has been covered with what looks like a black water tight membrane. I suspect drainage and dirt will follow soon followed by foliage.

Does anyone know if the tents will be moved back a bit or are they staying put? With these latest aerials it doesn't seem like they are leaving much room for the Casey Jr. water area.
