Late Dinner - Help Me Choose!

So my family and I will be in Orlando over Christmas, and will be staying at POP from the 26th to the 30th. We are staying with relatives for the holiday itself, and will be going to Universal the day of the 26th, then will swing by to pick up my grandmother and head to POP to check in. Once done, I'm sure the most of the family will want to crash, but I want to take the time to try something new and out of the ordinary for me, so I want to schedule a late-night dinner at a new restaurant instead of just hitting the same notes I usually do. My ADR window opens up on Sunday, so it's time for me to make a decision!

Here are the places I'm considering:

- Boma
- Jiko
- Sanaa
- Artist Point
- California Grill
- Narcoossee's

Of the above, which would you pick and why? Are there any places not on the list that you think I've overlooked? Limiting choices to restaurants that don't need park entry.

I like all of those restaurants. If I was by myself and hungry and adventurous, I'd bring something to read at hit Boma...and stay there far longer than I should and eat far more than I should. It has the most interesting and different food of any of the buffets on property, and most of it (not all) is very good.

California Grill and Narcoossee both have very good food, and the added bonus of a great view of the MK fireworks if you time your meal correctly. The food at those places isn't adventurous, but the preparations are generally quite good. I like the food at CG a bit better.

Of those on the list, I like the food best at Sanaa. The bread service is out of this world, and the entrees where you can choose two or three meats and vegetables give you great variety. I've enjoyed every bit of food I've had there and hit Sanaa on every trip. I might not choose it if I were eating alone, however, simply because I might get bored. But your mileage may vary on that point.

I personally like Artist Point or Jiko. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Artist Point can get a little noisy, but the food (to me) is well worth it. Jiko is great and if wine is your thing, they have an amazing wine selection.

I agree with Boma. You can sample a lot of different things and be as adventurous as you like, plus AKL is such a beautifully themed resort. Jiko has amazing food and an incredible wine selection. I cannot vouch for Sanaa as I have not eaten there (YET!). :)

Depending on when you arrive at akl and when your reservation is you might want to tale time to explore the grounds, check out the animals and all, explore the artwork throughout the lobby, or get a drink at the lounge above Boma. AKL is the sort of resort you really take the time to explore.

Jiko is outstanding both food wise, and atmosphere wise. There is an area overlooking where they prepare the appetizers (an open kitchen) where solo dinners can feel comfortable, I forgot the name of the area, but the chefs and cast members are very friendly and interact with the guests. It's neat watching them make the appetizers. After dinner you can head right upstairs to Victoria Falls lounge for some good drinks, and relaxing times!!!

Sounds like you have made a decision already, but I'll share my opinion anyway. California Grill is my favorite of that group with Jiko my second favorite. Jiko is perfect if you are looking for something more unique. I loved my meal there!

My list would be:

California Grill - Excellent Food, if you're a sushi fan, order something from their sushi bar. (Plus Wishes!)

Boma - Close between this and Jiko but if you're on the fance, this allows you to try a variety of similar food to Jiko at a lower price point (Plus ZEBRA DOMES)

Jiko - Really enjoy this place with a larger group then trying everyone's food.

The rest are kind of a toss-up but those are my top three.

I would do Narcoossee's or California Grill because late night dining in those restaurants give you great views of Wishes! Jiko is EXTREMELY delicious though! All your options are fantastic!
