Woot!
I just finished grabbing a hotel for this weekend and i'm off to DL!
Flying from Tampa to San Diego, which is under 2 hours from DLR. Mileage is about the same as my commute to WDW from here in Tampa. Packing my own GPS so I wont get lost.
Good rental car rate, though it's off-site at the airport. I'll live. Enterprise roxors for not totally dinging me since my other-half is under 25 still.
Got a hotel by calling around since no one had rooms online. Got the Hojo across the street from the entrance and parking is free. The other option was the Hilton and it is $200 a night with parking fees and is under massive renovation AND it's not really walking distance to DL-proper.
Woot!
*throws things into carry-on* Flight is using my southwest rapid rewards. Fly out in 6 hours. My other half has to go back to Ohio (currently in Tampa with me), so sorta fudged the booking to have his "free" flights end in Nashville and then picked up a cheapo rate to Ohio. About $150 for two round trips, much better then the $500 per person that's coming up online.
I booked it tonight, and there was still several places i could have gone with my rewards - so southwest rewards are pretty easy to redeem! Also, his second leg is actually a rebooking of his old leg from here (Tampa) back to Ohio - without any fees. Take that big airlines and your nasty fees.
