Last Minute Sept. Weather question

We leave on Sunday and so I looked up the 10 day weather forecast. We've never been this time of year and every day it says Scattered Thunder Storms (60%) with temps mostly 88. Is this normal for this time of year and it'll have a thunder storm sometime in the afternoon before clearing off or should we be planning on spending the park in ponchos with rain pretty much all the time? Packing and just want to know somewhat what to expect.

Here is the link for the weather I saw too.

Thanks!

That is pretty normal for this time of year. As you stated most thunderstorms can be pretty quick but they do tend to last a bit longer but are less intense in September. Bring the ponchos and if at all possible wear shoes that are comfortable when wet and you should be fine.

We have gone in late September for the past 5 years and have had great luck with rain (hardly any) but the temperatures have always been in the upper 80's with typical Florida humidity. Pack those ponchos but I wouldn't expect to need them but a time or two.

We leave Saturday ourselves so, see you there and have a great vacation!

I live here in central florida and we've had 50-60% chance of rain all week and I haven't seen a drop since last weekend. You never know, also it could be raining in your back yard and dry in the front. The problem with the weather in florida the rain is pretty unpredicatble unless we're having a tropical system moving through. It usually just rains in the afternoon, but you never know sometimes we get a system that will bring rain all day. There is no norm in florida with rain...lol. The one thing you can count on in september is it's still hot and humid. i say bring ponchos or something, b/c you just never know.

My husband and I were there last week, and before we left the 10-day forecast said there was a 40-60% chance of thunderstorms every single day we were going to be there. Needless to say, I was freaking out a little bit too.

But....it only rained twice. Once from around 1-3 Thursday afternoon, and the second time it rained sporadically from 9-11 Saturday morning.

So I really wouldn't worry about it! :sohappy:

Also remember that a weather forecast for Central Florida covers quite a bit of ground. It could be raining a couple of miles from WDW without a drop of rain falling at the parks. The rain in Florida often comes in clusters rather than covering a broad area.
