Last Day at Work before Disney-What do you do?

Hello fellow Disney lovers,

Today is my last day at work before getting ready to see the Mouse . I was wondering what do you do the last day at work to further get ready and excited for your trip? I have finished all my special projects and am just on alert mode in case of something I have to handle today. So what do you do the last day at work to get ready to enjoy your trip?

I tend to stare at the clock, and wonder why it seems to be moving backwards.

You should just head home after lunch. What are you really going to get done, in those last 4 hours that you can not get done over the phone? Tell you boss, I said it was cool. Trust me its fine.

We're self employed so my last day is full of making sure that the email vacation reply is done, phone message is done, all paperwork needed is done, mail is held. When that is all finished I start vacation. If it takes until noon than vacation starts at noon. But really it is doing all that for work and then the last minute stuff for home, get in the truck and head out on the road.

I get to work from home when needed so before our vacation that last day of work was spent doing quite a few things:

1) completely slacking off
2) setting my out of office
3) making sure I had all the trip documents in order
4) packing last minute stuff with my laptop/phone in the bedroom with me

I get my big Disney book out.Its titled " Theatre of Dreams." and it contains all our memories from previous trips.I read it from cover to cover,then I go over my checklist with a fairy tooth comb.

Incorporate Disney into the theme of the night somehow (I work night shift). Try to listen to some music to put me into vacation mode on the way to work then maybe my Disney mug for my coffee. Then I make list on my downtime to make sure I will have everything I need! Oh yea...and remind myself every five minutes that in the morning I will be on VACATION

Oh that last day before vacation is always brutal no matter where you go really. To the World is even worse.....I always head in telling myself I will attempt to get as much stuff done as possible, and vow to not look at the clock....of course half the time neither of these ever really happen. But I do try to get things done, remind people I will be out and if possible duck out early so I can enjoy the last minute packing and to dos before we hit the road...or fly...

Either way, you are almost there hang in there and have a magical time!!

Last minute packing, pay bills, do laundry so I can come home to clean clothes. Change and wash bed sheets and towels so when I come home everything is clean and waiting for me. That way when I do get home I can work on unpacking and cleaning the vacation clothes and don't have to worry about stuff around the house.

I'm at 6 days out and already productivity has hit an all time low. I can't imagine next Tuesday. Maybe I'll paint my toenails at my desk. I just don't see anything getting done at all.

Talk to the boss early in the day and make sure they don't need anything last minute, ask coworkers if they need anything last minute and remind them I'm going to be out, record my out of the office voice mail message, draft my out of the office e-mail reponse, and finally at 4:25 turn on the out of office voice mail and e-mail. When I did office work, I'd tell everyone I was going on vacation, so bring me everything they wanted done before noon, so I could get to it.

That ensured a steady stream of crap would hit my box, my desk and be handed to me right up until I walked out the door. It was always a busy day.

I switched he voice mail to a vacation message around 3:00.
