It is a really fun city and there is plenty to do even if your not a gambler. Even if you are a gambler like me I encourage you to move from casino to casino just to experience the different environments. My only gambling advice is this. If your not an expereienced gambler set an amount of money you are comfortable losing and expect to lose it and you will never get frustrated. Just have fun.

Oh did I mention alcohol is free while your gambling.:D :hammer: :lookaroun

Good Luck:cool:

I went there for a few days last summer (2 nights...which was not long enough!). Anyways, depending on where you are staying and if you plan to go to all of the casino's prepare yourself to walk, walk, walk, and walk some more! I stayed @ Circus Circus (the 5th largest hotel in the world that was packed and had thousands and thousands of people in it which drove me up a wall!) which is on one complete end of the strip, so we had to walk very very far to get to some of the casino's. If you don't plan on gambling, just be careful when you are walking around the different hotels and casinos, because they are REALLY big and you can easily spend hours in just one of them and still not see half of it. Caesar's Palace has a HUGE mall called the Forum shops. This place was sooooooooooooooo big, I know that we stayed in it for at least 2 hours and did not see the entire thing. Each hotel is themed extremely well and they try their best to keep you in. Funny as it may seem, though..my favorite place that we went to was M&M World! It was a four story store with all the m&m products you could ever imagine! Another one of my favorite things that we did was the Freemont Street Experience...it was sooo awesome! Freemont street is the old strip that they closed down the road and covered the street with a canopy that has thousands of lights. They put on a light show every 20 minutes or so. This is also the place with the neon Cowboy that is seen in Honey I Blew Up the Kid (or whatever the name is).:sohappy:
Sorry this was so long, but if I think of anything else, I'll let you know!

You could check www.lasvegas.com

May I suggest you to get your show tickets at ticketmaster before you get there. They sell out pretty fast sometimes. I wouldn´t miss Siegfried and Roy and Cique du Soleil´s Ô. There are plenty of shows there though...

I´m not a gambler (specially when I earn in mexican pesos), but I loved touring the hotels and casinos. ;)

I went to Las Vegas for a week's vacation, three years ago, with two friends, and we had a great time.

We stayed at the LUXOR Hotel, which was a magnificent place.

We gambled a bit, and tried to plan something special for each day of our trip. I won't bore you by telling you what we did, but would suggest that you check the internet for information about what shows and things will be happening when your trip is, so you can do some advance planning.

We rented a car to take a drive into the mountains one day, and drive around to some other hotels to see things.

I've been to LV several times.....here are some things to remember...

1...summertime it's HOT....not humid, very dry (it's a desert).....but SUPER HOT....would you believe 100+ degrees at 12 midnight most nights...

2....go see the Hoover Dam.

3...take a 90 mile trip to Laughlin, Nevada.....this is a pretty little town set in the southern tip of Nevada on the Colorado River where Nevada, Arizona and California all kiss. It's very scenic and there are casinos there if you feel like losing some money.

4...go visit Red Rock Canyon

5...make sure you go to the buffets not only on the strip, but downtown too.

6...DON"T MISS the Siegfried and Roy magic show at the Mirage.

I haven't been to LV since 1990 and the strip has changed drastically since then....many of the older hotels are gone and replaced with multi million dollar themed hotels...strip away all the themes and window dressing and you're basically left with a gambling saloon and that's all their interested in.
Hope some of this helps....have fun.

We have gone every year for the past 4 years.

This year was our last trip. We mainly went to play the slots. This year the rate of payback was so low that all the fun was gone from playing them. I have also made it a point to make a side trip each year, and THAT (a trip to Bryce Canyon) was the only high point of the trip. At the present time (post 9/11) the slots don't even make any pretense of paying you back anything. Put you coins in and watch the reels spin and suck in your money.

When I was there in '90, the hotels seem to entice people to play their slots by boasting the biggest overall payoffs....if I remember correctly the percentage of return was 97.9% in most hotels...

...while waiting in line to see Liza Mennelli at the Dunes, I was playing the dollar slots and was up $354 when the line started to move....I continued to play as the line moved past me and hit a $5,000 jackpot....the machine paid out $400 immediately and a bunch of guys converged on me from nowhere to pay me the rest...they even took my picture to put in a local paper as a way of advertising for them...
...we wound up going to see Liza at the 12 o'clock show and sat dead center right up against the stage....it took a $20 tip to the Captain and a $20 tip to the guy who seated us to get us there...LOL...she's a great entertainer but, like her mother, I think she's a nut case.
