Large scale demolition at Lost Continent

Maybe I’m off base but wouldn’t it be a lot simpler to retheme Toon Lagoon to One Piece than anywhere else in the park?

I admittedly don’t know much about the manga but I know they are pirates. So wouldn’t a retheme of the two water rides and putting a pirate ship where “me ship, the Olive” is just fit better. Heck you could just retheme the back of Toon Lagoon and then take the front half and the walkway into it from Superhero island and have a whole new land.

For a long time I thought making Toon Lagoon a Sponbebob area was the obvious choice, but now that it's destined for Universal Kids, I guess not. One Piece may be a better candidate.

Pokémon going into Islands of Adventure doesn't quite make as much sense to me as USF, but that's just personal preference compared to Zelda or Wicked. If we're still trying to hang onto the idea of Islands being about books, than Wicked/Oz is the most logical and could work as a better thematic bridge between Seuss and Harry Potter
There are Pokémon books.

It’s a more mature animation style. And if they consider the live action…

What idea would align with a light retheme of mythos ya think..
Zelda was the easiest to slot into Lost Continent stylistically. But, if Nintendo insists on it going to Epic, we wait. Personally, I think Luigi’s Mansion is the better fit there.

Not really sure what else I’d want next to Hogsmeade.

Oh I’m not say to keep the Toon Lagoon name, just to retheme the two rides and area around it to One Piece and rename it Pirateland or whatever. (like I said, I only have the smallest amount of knowledge one the manga)

Then you could take the amphitheater, the shopping and dining section and retheme that to any IP (personally I think Wicked would fit in there great, you could even keep the bones of the theater and have a truncated version of the stage play in there)

I just don't see a retheme to that working there. Would need a tear down for most, if not all, of it.

Funny you say that as 12 years ago I always pictured Pokemon as the toon lagoon replacement. Was the literature thing ever a real intention or a happy accident? I guess Kong probably ruined it first.

Pokemon at least can do “an island”; Alola would be nice. Albeit I’m not quite confident the company cares about that anymore either.

One what? Are you all sure you're not getting rumors for Florida confused with Japan? 🤔

One Piece is very large right now. The live action show was fairly reinvigorating for its popularity among a North American audience. It isn’t Pokemon, but it’s not hard to see why they’d be looking at it.

“One Piece” led the pack of the most-watched shows on Netflix during the second half of 2023. From July to December of 2023, the live-action take on the beloved manga was viewed 71.6 million times and racked up 541.9 million viewing hours.
