Why does Disney go out of their way to attract large groups of people at events in Disney World that are disruptive to regular resort guests? Examples are Pop Warner, various large Disney marathons, international tourist groups, and other events that significantly alter regular guests' experiences in Disney World. I don't have any kids in Pop Warner and I don't run in marathons. Both events have impacted my Disney World vacations in negative ways in the past. Having literally hundreds of cheerleaders gathering in the lobby of my resort and then deciding to head to the food court as group to eat breakfast at the moment me and my family were, is an example of this. I understand it is all about the money but they are definitely alienating Disney fans such as myself that would otherwise not give a second thought to going year after year. Me and my family have gone to Disney World every year for the past 8 years, so we should be on the radar of guests Disney would like to keep happy. I would love to hear others' thoughts on this and if anyone thinks Disney perceives this as being an issue or just a way to make a lot of money.

Curious if you did any black Friday shopping.

God forbid you have a family reunion at Disney or wedding either. What is considered a large group? Over 10 people? What if all the large groups were broken into smaller groups but were still just as "disruptive"? What is the difference between a well behaved group of 20 vs a very loud and obnoxious rude family trio? So, no more family reunions, weddings parties, school groups, senior trips, cheerleading competitions, marathons, tour groups, sports leagues, disability Wish groups, gay days, conventions, corporate outings, field trips, or grand birthday parties...they all attract people in large groups that could potentially be disruptive.

Not to give you too hard of a time, but I think you may have your answer. Money and Disney isn't going to restrict the right to be together in groups as friends or family. If it is a matter of safety, they will step in (such as cheerleaders doing cheer stunts or pyramids in front of the castle for photos). Also to be fair I have has many small families "disrupt" my visit just as much as a large tour group with flash photos on rides, putting kids on their shoulders during fireworks, and in general being grouchy when their bratty kids act up due to poor discipline. You don't see Disney avoiding, not marketing, or restricting them.

Expect crowds at the most popular theme park in the world.

It's like going to a sold out stadium and complaining about the line at Shake Shack.

It's for money.

It costs a lot less to move or comp a complaining guest than it would to turn said groups away sadly.
I know this isn't exactly what you said, but, it seems like it turns out to be that small groups are a bigger PITA then large groups. They have to be bought off whereas the groups are paying big time to be there. Food for thought.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm sure this topic has been beat to death, I would be disappointed with the ridiculous responses. I was hoping to have an intelligent debate about this topic. Instead, I invite everyone to stay at Pop Century and the All Stars this weekend.

If you knew it had been beaten to death, why start another thread about it?
