Excellent. Appears to be placed to be able to move easily between LM and BatB. Glad they are finally going to be placing some steel!

At least this won't affect people's photos that much, unless you're taking pics of the park from across the lagoon, but maybe this will be done the same way that the castle lights are being installed. Thankfully, that crane will be gone by the time we're there (arrival on the 25th). We had to deal with that castle crane in 2002 when they were repainting the towers but it was indeed lowered in the afternoon.

I really hope that this means some serious vertical construction though. I hope they'll get alot accomplished in the next week! I'd love to see something going vertical when I'm there next Sunday!

Really only one reason for a crane at this stage of construction... steel erection! Woo hoo!

Yes!

That is an obscenely large crane for the task at hand. They must be staging the steel quite a distance away from the site, because I can't figure out why they'd need a crane that large to set steel on a 1-story building with a relatively small footprint.

Maybe they accidentally ordered two of the crane they're using for the castle lights :p

The three telescoping cranes appear to be moving forms for the foundation/retaining walls around the site perimeter especially on the Small World side and next to the Theme Park 2 service road. No idea about the big crane although it looks like the one last Thursday working on the Castle (Xmas Lights?).

Thanks for the updated on the smaller ones. That makes complete sense that they're being used to set forms.

The big one...well...I can't even guess. There must be something going on behind the mountain of dirt that we don't know about, because any of those telescoping cranes should be able to set steel for LM.

Maybe with all the site works that is going to be going on around LM they want to park the crane in one spot and have it be able to each any spot on the attraction. This would save them the trouble of having to constantly move a smaller crane around and have it get in the way of other work going on.

Excellent theory. Could indeed be a long term crane. Heck, maybe they'll use it for both attractions and other things on site.
