CEO salary is nothing. Let’s talk about total compensation for $lappie - How many stock options will he get this year? I’d look but just the thought of his bald head makes my stomach churn.
Chapek's current total compensation package paid him more than $33 million less than Iger made as CEO the year before.

Why blame him? The Board of the Directors approved his compensation . He didn't get the job dictating his salary and achievable bonuses.

I think there was a price shock that hit travelers domestically over the summer that caused many people to decide to delay travel another year. Prices for everything were crazy for a few months. It wasn't just a DIsney thing. Rental cars, airfare and hotels across the country were charging highly inflated prices.
Yes. That and the testing issue.

You need a negative test to travel. But if you get Covid, and many kids are, then you can end up giving a positive result for up to 3 months. Which is why in the U.K., they won’t do another PCR test for 3 months after a positive result. Sure you can arrange one privately but there’s still a risk that it’ll come back positive. Planning a trip for July means the whole of the summer term at school is risky.

No indication yet how the US will treat kids. The U.K. is only giving 12+ a single shot, so not “fully vaccinated”. What about younger kids who I don’t think they will allow to be vaccinated, when the US starts giving shots to the 5+ age group?

These kind of headaches just cause uncertainty. People want definitive answers, and there aren’t any yet.

Anywho, just got this message from my kids' school:

"There are a few challenges that we are facing that I wanted to share. You may have seen on the news the issues with the supply chain and labor. Shortages of products and supplies are becoming the norm. Please be assured that we will always have a nutritious breakfast and lunch available for our students. Although, there may be unexpected changes to the menu. We are also facing labor shortages. We have vacancies in most of our schools. If you are interested in a foodservice position, please go to the district website and apply. This is a great opportunity to be on your child’s schedule.

Thank you for your patience and understanding."

Times are a changing. No school lunches in my day. I brought my metal Planet of the Apes which had my bologna sandwich and a banana eating in our classroom followed by dodgeball in the play yard.

I thought the Parks Division was back in profit from Slappies shareholder event last month? I know thats not all of TWDC, but its always been the backbone. I think they are jumping the gun on cutting anyone back a bit right now. I think thats a decision for after Jan 1 2022

Cost cutting ---guess we all better get used to walking from the parking lot cause they ain't gonna be hiring tram drivers any time soon. Another perk down the old toilet. That list of by gone perks is getting longer and longer

The proposed cuts are so infuriating. By the time they end up cutting too much, it'll already be too late. The reputation for the WDW's customer service has been going down the drain for the past decade and this is only accelerating it.

Of course, you still have the phenomenal select cast members but without significant pay raises, without being properly staffed, the majority of cast members simply cannot perform as well as they are expected.

Opening headliners can only get you so far, if the guests aren't treated magically for what they are paying, they will stop coming.

Gone are the days of a magical vacation with frequent magical interactions, and now it's all about being rushed around by reservations and virtual queues as the company flips your wallet upside down and kicks you out the door so they can do the same to the next guest.

I wonder if they've seen an increase for preferred parking that's influenced them to keep trams down.

Why does Universal have enough housekeeping staff?
Do they? We’ve read mixed reports on Royal Pacific as we prep for our upcoming HHN stay in a couple weeks.

Either way, those are Lowe’s employees. Perhaps plenty of hotel companies can learn what they’re doing, because every “lesser” Hilton brand I’ve stayed in over the past few months is also struggling mightily with housekeeping and basic customer service.

Uni has done some things very well in regards to getting up to speed (merch hotel delivery, new attraction completion), but there’s still some growing pains there, too (shuttering of UEU site construction until very recently).

Cut labor costs how about cutting Bob's salary by 90 percent for a start
That would be terrible. It would force him to live moderately rich rather than filthy rich. Why should he suffer in such turmoil like that while the working plebes get to bask in the luxuries of affording rent and possibly a vehicle?
