I played the game in Germany.
The day I went they were testing in Japan and Germany. I've seen many of the Japan "reveals", so I wanted to try Germany with no spoilers.
The idea is brilliant on many levels.
1. You are forced to explore almost the entire pavillion and go in just about every shop (see all merchandise available to purchase).
2. You notice details you never would have.
3. You are asked to talk to cast members from that country.
4. The entire time in Germany they kept subliminally suggesting I really needed a tasty pretzel.
5. Kids are enthralled, while parents can tag a long or sit and rest.
6. It was fun.
7. What a brilliant way to make WSC more inviting for kids, provide something the whole family enjoys, and encourage people to explore each pavillion, especially those who are only there for the rides.
8. It gives you a photo of the next location you are supposed to be at. It doesn't get easier than that.
9. There is a "do it again" button so you can make the "reveals" happen again and again.
10. You don't have to walk back to the place you picked up the Kimmunicator. You can drop it off at a place in that country.
I think Disney hit the ball out of the park with this one. Well done.

In no particular order here were the reveals
Low Key: you had to find information and type that into the phone. That triggered your next clue. Ex: What city in Germany a certain snack was from. Or, the translation of a word.
High Tech: A train came around on a track with a code on it. A cuckoo clock came alive and yodeled. A bunch of beer steins flipped their lids and sang a song. A nutcracker lifted a lid to reveal a word. The church in the train area lit up, made noise and appeared to have light saber guards (but that is just an interpretation, not truth). And finally, the villian was chased by a lady with a broom, a la a cuckoo clock or the Pirates of the Carribbean ride. It all took about 30 minutes.
