Kim Possible testing today with guests

Saw several groups of guests testing the Kim Possible game today at World Showcase. They had small black flip phones with a blue charm attached to them. Whenever they received a message it made the typical "communicator" chime. I spoke to a few Team Possible cast members and they explained that a "recruitment center" exists in Future World and there are several carts around World Showcase where the participants get further instructions throughout the game. I saw a cart at the UK and another in Italy I believe.

So, do we have any details about how the Kimunicators look?

I got an opportunity to test the game in Germany on Thursday. The phones are standard LG flip phones. The blue attachment is for security, and while it doesn't really get in the way of the phone operation, is almost as large as the phone itself. They are pre-configured just for the game and has a nice, loud speaker for group listening. The animations on the screen are flash-type but look great. You primarily kim-municate (sorry, couldn't resist) with Wade, Kim's computer genius friend on the show. The entire experience takes about 30-45 minutes depending on how long it takes you to figure out clues and how well you know World Showcase. I don't want to spoil details about the mission itself, but it's great to see things that are static come to life and do things when you activate the triggers. People had lots of "Are you doing that?" comments during our mission. The only actual character figure that was added was our Villain (who I can't remember the name of for the life of me, but had a helmet and an orange jumpsuit) meeting his fate in a quite humorous way fitting with the pavilion. Our cast member said that Morocco and American Adventure definitely would not have the game installed, and that Norway was having extreme tech difficulties. She also said that the opening got pushed back and what should have been a soft opening was really just a test & adjust with guests.

I really hope they get the bugs worked out of this by the time we go in December because I really want to do this. Thanks for all of the info. :)

So they have figures of the villains? That sounds much better than the weak strobe light effect that they had during the first test way back when. So if you complete every country, is it a possibility that this thing could have a finale with Kim and Ron figures?

P.S. Too bad the phones don't look like the Kimunicators from the show - they were awesome!

So is the Imageworks finale definitely cut out of the game?

Well, I think so, but that isn't to say that they wouldn't have a finale somewhere else. They kept saying that there would be no missions in The American Adventure or Morocco, so maybe that's where the finale is. Nobody can say for sure as nobody has completed the whole game, only certain "levels". I bet that there's got to be SOME sort of finale. Isn't the whole premise that Dr. Drakken gave away his take-over-the-world schemes to other villains and you had to stop them? Or did they nix this plot line?

The reason Morocco won't be in there is that the Kingdom of Morocco runs the pavilion. If the King doesn't watch Kim Possible, I'm doubtful he'll let them put that in. American Adventure is due mostly to lack of space that isn't an attraction queue, a tiny cramped shop, a fast-food joint, or a almost constantly in-use (Eat-to-the-Beat and soon Candlelight Processional) amphitheater. The other pavilions have more "nook-and-cranny" space. And as far as the big ending or Kim & Ron goes, the ending of my mission where you deposit your Kimmunicator in the barrels outside of the winery looked permanent. Some "friends" of Ron have told me they were pulled from the studios and probably will show up in Epcot.

But then they would have to factor in that if Kim and Ron are going to be making appearances on the phone, they'd have to make sure that they're not at the areas where the phone messages plays. If they could be sure that they wouldn't be making "double appearances", then this would be a FANTASTIC idea! They could help the kids with the clues and roam around the whole "world"! I still hope that they create at least a mini-finale at Innoventions or something.

P.S. Does Rufus make a cameo?

Multiple Missions

Does anyone know if there are a variety of "missions" or is it a one shot deal?? When we go for 8 days in May would love to be able to keep the kids busy and happy for a few evenings while the wife and I enjoy the other aspects of the world showcase.

There are 7 different missions: one at each country, each country has a separate mission and finale.

And each Kimmunicator is just programmed for that country, so when you finish that mission, you will have to return that Kimmunicator and then sign up again for another mission for another country.

Depending on the demand, it might take a long time between missions, it will be like a fast pass and give you a time to return and play the next mission.

Considering the details I've heard, I'm surprised they didn't think of something like this sooner. Sounds like a lot of fun, and a way to make WS more kid-friendly without taking too much away from the whole atmosphere.

I played the game in Germany.

The day I went they were testing in Japan and Germany. I've seen many of the Japan "reveals", so I wanted to try Germany with no spoilers.

The idea is brilliant on many levels.
1. You are forced to explore almost the entire pavillion and go in just about every shop (see all merchandise available to purchase).
2. You notice details you never would have.
3. You are asked to talk to cast members from that country.
4. The entire time in Germany they kept subliminally suggesting I really needed a tasty pretzel.
5. Kids are enthralled, while parents can tag a long or sit and rest.
6. It was fun.
7. What a brilliant way to make WSC more inviting for kids, provide something the whole family enjoys, and encourage people to explore each pavillion, especially those who are only there for the rides.
8. It gives you a photo of the next location you are supposed to be at. It doesn't get easier than that.
9. There is a "do it again" button so you can make the "reveals" happen again and again.
10. You don't have to walk back to the place you picked up the Kimmunicator. You can drop it off at a place in that country.

I think Disney hit the ball out of the park with this one. Well done.

To see spoilers, highlight the area below:

In no particular order here were the reveals
Low Key: you had to find information and type that into the phone. That triggered your next clue. Ex: What city in Germany a certain snack was from. Or, the translation of a word.
High Tech: A train came around on a track with a code on it. A cuckoo clock came alive and yodeled. A bunch of beer steins flipped their lids and sang a song. A nutcracker lifted a lid to reveal a word. The church in the train area lit up, made noise and appeared to have light saber guards (but that is just an interpretation, not truth). And finally, the villian was chased by a lady with a broom, a la a cuckoo clock or the Pirates of the Carribbean ride. It all took about 30 minutes.

.

Question:

How do you get involved with the testing? Are they starting it the Innoventions screens or at the World Showcase booths?
