Killer Mickey/Minnie Crocs

I'll admit, I was once one of those people who saw people walking around in Crocs thinking, "How can someone put something that hideous on their feet and walk around like a normal person?" I read all the posts on this site about how wonderful crocs were on the feet during the long hikes at WDW. That made me curious. 1st morning of our last trip we had to run (literally) into the MK for our family portraits. We were all dressed up including leather dress shoes. Don't ya know by the time our portraits were done I had not 1 but 2 blisters on my left foot that had ruptured and stung so bad I could barely stand it. By the time we made it back into the Emporium I had to take the shoe off and walk with 1 bare foot. We went right over to the Mickey crocs. Again, I looked at them reluctantly but I remembered what I read and decided I had to have something on my foot to get back to the hotel to change. So I bit back my vanity and bought them and a pair of Mickey socks. As soon as I started to walk the pain was gone. It was like walking on clouds. Loooove them. In fact, I wore my ugly crocs proudly with lots of Jibbitz for the rest of the trip. I bought my DH a pair and he is now a believer. We got both our boys a new pair, too. I love croc pics now. If you're in line and bored have everyone put a croc-foot in and snap a picture. It's a fun Disney memory! LOL!

Anywhoo, in my quest to find the right footwear for DH and my upcoming May trip sans kiddos I started searching for different styles of crocs just to see what's out there. Looky what I found! Oh yeah! These babies will be miiiiine for May!!!! I even went to our local Dillards department store and tried a pair of non-Disney ones to see how the fit would be. They're amazingly comfy!

This website actually has a huuuuge selection of all crocs, Disney crocs, and Jibbitz. I'm sharing the wealth here. I hope I'm not going to get in trouble for letting people know where to find some cool stuff.

Anywhoo, here's to croc feet! :king:

They aren't the prettiest shoes in the world, but they sure are comfy. Our last Disney trip, I alternated with my mickey crocs and my croc flip flops (athens?) and my feet never once bothered me and they didn't get all sweaty like in tennis shoes. I bought these new ones, the minnie janes, last night after seeing this thread and I'm looking forward to them :) I did buy them at crocs.com though so I could get free shipping. I think the chocolate/cotton candy is pretty together :)

I am one of the ones that used to make fun of people that wear crocs. Wondering why anyone would wear such a hideous shoe. I tried one on and must admit that they are comfortable. They look too big on my tiny foot, so I tried on a pair of Mary Janes and boy are they cute. However I am a flp flop girl so I think I am going to have to break down and buy a pair before our next trip.

I must warn you. I wore my mary jane style crocs last august around the parks and I got blisters. I don't know why. It was horrible. I had worn my regular clog style crocs on the previous trip and had no problem. But the mary jane's design is just different enough that, at least for me, they were not a good choice for the parks. I ended up buying the black Mickey crocs a few days into the trip because I couldn't take my brown mary jane crocs (with kermit and gonzo jibbitz, of course!) for one more minute!

Just in case the OP hasn't bought the Mary Janes yet.. you trade style for comfort. Well.. as "stylish" as Crocs ever get. I have about 8 pairs of crocs and the mary janes are my least favorite. The wegde sandals are more comfortable. They seem to be too thin so they provide little support and the material moves a lot. I live here an I don't wear my MJ's to the world.

Anyway. Not my fave. I would stick with your old ones. Just my little opintion though.

i tried to get a pair for my son when he busted his flip flops but no stores had a size bigger than...like 10 or 12 (mens)

I had to order mine off the net. Got em off SurfandDirt. Now mine aren't the Disney ones since they only make them up to an XL but I love them just the same with a few Jibbitz.

I don't know why but i've never thought they were that ugly. And nobody can deny how comfortable they are. Now my Crocs are all I wear everywhere I got. I don't think i've worn my tennis shoes in months. :D

I used to hate crocs too! I thought they were so cute on my kids (5 and 8)they ahd the mickey and the reg crocs and wore them all last summer. For the fall they got the 'Fluffy' ones as my son calls them and they adored the,. My hubby even got a pair last summer but I just couldn't do it. Then a few months ago I was shoping and my cute little Steve Madden ballet flats started to give me blisters and I said screw it and bought some pink 'fluffy' ones. I am in LOVE! I wear them mostly as slippers and to get the kids from school or out side with the dogs. I will say i am very tempted to get Mickey ones for the summer though!

I love my Cleo crocs, they are so comfy. The regular crocs are big on my feet and I hate flip flops, so they are out, but the cleo ones are slip on and I had no problem with them walking around the world.

I bought my white w/pink strap Crocs a couple years ago at nofear.com as well. So many people ask me where I got them as they don't sell that version in the parks. The opposite version they sell, but not my version.

I wore them as a trial run to Disneyland figuring it is a much smaller place and they were so comfy. Wore them all over WDW this past December trip and for the first time in ten years my feet did not hurt. With my Merrill's I get achy feet by the fourth day . . . with the Croc's to alternate, there was no pain at all . . . I could NOT believe it. I am a believer!!!

Thank you to Divine Madness poster. As the owner of 20 pair of Beach style Crocs, which I wear to Disney and to a my job at a Chicago zoo where I am on my feet all day, I was considering a Mary Jane style, but now will think twice. I used to get blisters with all the walking at Disney, but since I discovered Crocs about four years ago, walking is no longer an issue at Disney World. Don't care what they look like, if it helps me to keep on going all day without heel pain or blisters, they are a miracle shoe to me. But I'll probably refrain from the Mary Jane style now, thanks to your post on what happened to you.

i wore my maryjanes for 5 days straight with no problem. i think it all depends on the shape of your feet. i have thin feet, i guess, and they were a little loose, but i just got used to it. i wear them out walking all day long too (my job) with no problem! cant hurt to try, if youve made it over the "crocs are ugly" hurdle! i think im going to get a pair of pink ones next, just to annoy my hubby (he hates them, but is ok with the black ones, go figure). anyway, if youre wary about them, order them from zappos.com. theyll be at your house the next day (free) and you can wear them around the house. dont like em, throw em back in the box, print out a return label, and ship them back (also free!)

I have to say my only rule is socks with Crocs may be ok by ONLY with pants. With shorts the sock/croc look screams tourist. (no offense to those who do this) .

I admit to doing this on my last trip, but only because my feet had become so blistered from my non-crocs that I had to wear bandages over the blisters and the socks kept them on and gave extra cushion.

I will not pass judgment on people wearing socks with sandals at WDW for this reason. I'm a pretty style aware person, but at WDW I say comfort trumps anything! Now, anywhere else, that's another story. I went on a 2nd date with a guy to a Dave Matthews Band concert and he wore socks with his birkenstocks, while wearing shorts....needless to say, it was a "deal breaker" for me

I'm glad I could help. I also must point out that I have wide feet, a women's size 7 (so they are practically square) but the width didn't seem to be an issue. It seemed to be where the lower strap came across the top of my foot and/or the lack of extra padding on the bottom, along with less arch support. I still love my Mary Janes to wear around but I will never take them to WDW again. The regular clog style let your feet move and breathe more, I guess.

I thought the MJs would be less hot for my feet since it was august, but all it did was cause me pain and suffering. Even though I owned regular Crocs, I was foolish and didn't pack them (I only packed my Mary Janes and Cleos, the cleos are also nice for short term wear) so I had to buy the mickey ones (Like I REALLY needed an excuse, right?) but I did have to wear them with socks and bandages (see my post above) for the rest of the trip.

OK, OK...I will buy a pair of the regular ones....with Mickey heads, of course. I will still think they are ugggly, but I will purchase them for the sake of my tootsies. I had surgery on both of my feet in October and can only wear flats still. I started working out again recently, but even thick sneakers are not the greatest for my feet yet. I was going to try to Maryjane ones becasue they are the lesser of the two uglies (is that even a word??) but will not due to so many great posts. Thanks for the great insite croc fans!!:ROFLOL:

CrazyforWDW1 thanks for answering the 'Fluffy' question I had no clue what they were really called and liek I said that is what my 5 yr old calls his soin our house they are Fluffy Crocs:ROFLOL:
