Hope I'm not duplicating a topic, but since I couldn't find anything, here goes.
Was on Safari yesterday, 3/6 and the road and route have been slightly changed.
About halfway past the first Cheetah habitat, the truck goes right and up over a hill (new pavement), adding maybe 8 feet in elevation for an eye level view of the lion habitat.
Before the detour, you can see a log across the roadway approximately opposite the second cheetah enclosure, suggesting the illusion that this was a naturally occuring event.
We talked with two CMs afterwards - the first suggesting it was because of debris in the roadway, but the second more willing to discuss the facts of the matter.
This, apparently, is not temporary. She said that AK had recently acquired 5 more Cheetahs and would rework the habitats to hopefully provide better views of the animals. Additionally, they hoped the hill climb would provide a good view of the lions.
Hopefully this is a positive development, even though the ride is just slightly shorter. It is true that from a distance, we could see 3 very active cheetahs in the second habitat.
