hey... I don't know why... maybe it was because it was very overcast out and our safari guide wasnt that great but I diddnt get much out of the Kilamanjaro Safaris... I diddnt enjoy it very much on our last trip... im guessing that it's probably a hit or miss... Infact our whole day at the Animal Kingdom was a dreary dark and rainy one... it was also outr last day at the parks... I did enjoy Its tough to be a bug, Dinosaur, a few of the habitats and Tarzan rocks allot.. and the theming of Anandapur was great... but other than that I diddn't get a whole lot... I think I really will need a second trip to get a little more out of it... im planning on making it the first park I visit in March... and i'll try to go on a Sunny day... maybe I just need some time to get use to it

Well, it is THAT time of year! Did I ever mention that I was once a zoo docent, and took school groups around on tours? Early spring was ALWAYS interesting. "Lady, why are those _____(fill in the blank) fighting/wrestling?" "Lady, why does that animal (Tapir) have 5 legs?"

I believe the San Francisco zoo has an annual tour that focuses on this topic.

Cheers.

Going back to Kilimanjaro - when we rode last week there was a smaller safari vehicle off the path with a smaller private looking tour going on. Anyone have an idea of what this was? At first I thought it was scenery but I swear I saw people moving within the vehicle.

It is a new experience called the Wildlife Discovery Excursion.

sounds neat... Is the experience much different than the usual kilimanjaro safaris attraction?

The new route sounds great! We were just there on 2/26 and aside from the fact the animals were nowhere to be seen and our poor driver had to enterain us with facts about the termite mounds, we never even got to see an active lion. When we went by "pride rock" all you could see was a litte bit of mane blowing in the wind because the lion was lying down. But, then again it could have been someones bathroom rug or a stuffed animal from the gift shop.

Yea there is going to be a few other changes on the ridepath....I cannot wait to get back to drive it. They have been working on the new path over the hill for almost three months now. Glad to see it's finished :sohappy:

Erik, you signature says "I <8 potholes!" If that's true, move to Michigan. You will be in potehole heaven!
