The trades?

Is that where the “shes clearly in power” comes from?

All evidence points to the contrary...favreau, Weiss and benihoff and now Feige all brought in?

“Still in development” Johnson out there while Game Of Lightsabers was announced as the next movies?

Guess I need to read the trades with their interesting way of reading the tea leaves?

What is wrong with you?

Quoting two "sources" that got their info from the same source is supposed to prove what? That there's an echo chamber where whispers from one blog get re-circulated over and over again?

Have you no critical thinking skills at all?

But you know, if "Beyond the Trailer" vlog says something... well, just keep repeating among people who want it to be true.

From the Screen Rant article you quote:
It is highly important for viewers to take this all with a grain of salt, as it's just a rumor.

And from MovieWeb:
While this may support the ongoing rumors that Kathleen Kennedy's days atop LucasFilm are numbered, none of the following details have been confirmed, and they likely won't be by anyone at Disney and/or LucasFilm.

You would have been been better off quoting the original...

Unless one thinks she comes across as a bit flighty or says things that don't comport with the hateratti orthodoxy.

Yeah, so this "it is known" thing about wanting to fire KK is super flimsy.

What’s wrong with me?

I’m trying to piece together a potential scenario based on what makes sense?

And what exactly are you doing?
Lemme guess? A Forbes article published in August 2018 referring to raw box office of movies that receeded steadily from 2015-2018?

Is that a “trade”?

I find it so ridiculous that anyone is fighting the “pro-Kennedy” fight at all.

How bout her studio actually score a hit, first?

It’s been awhile.

And I AM taking all that stuff with a grain of salt...but that doesn’t mean outright dismissal and believing whatever Disney spin they barely bothered to push.

You trust them WAY too much

And let me ask direct: you think there is no chance Iger offered Abrams the job? 0?

The trades are generally considered Deadline, Variety, Hollywood Reporter. Not really youtube personalities.

That said, I agree inevitably that the more overt signs that Iger is potentially positioning Marvel to Lucasfilm as they did Pixar to WDAS. Iger is consistent if anything when his strategies have paid off in the past.

Kevin Feige may wind himself up with a new Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Title before this is all said and done. That doesn't mean Kennedy is ousted though (just like WDAS continued to have a president). Perhaps just not fully controlling the creative reigns. There are other portions of the Lucasfilm president role that I think aren't really that befitting of Kevin's time.

First of all, I would not be surprised if KK leaves LF in a few years - not because of any of the reasons specified here, but because she's 66. It isn't inconceivable that she'll want to retire in the next 3-5 years. So a successor will be needed - whether that's Feige, Favreau, etc, remains to be seen.

It's scored 3 hits out of 4 films. The only movie that was not objectively a "hit" is Solo. Any film that makes over $1B cannot be classified as anything less than a hit.

Follow the trajectory...

And consider the “collateral damage” of all the tie in revenue...which has always been “the thing” with Star Wars.

Ironically...new swag on the shelves today

And let’s just get this straight and on the record: your opinion is that they DIDNT shove Kennedy in a closet after boyfriend’s movie lit the world on fire and nobody showed for solo? Just confirming that.

Variety reporting this is no longer in active development at Lucasfilm -

"Meanwhile, Variety has learned that a possible “Star Wars” feature produced by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is also no longer in active development at Lucasfilm.

When news of Feige’s involvement with a “Star Wars” film broke in September 2019, it churned up fan speculation, since widely debunked, that he was in line to replace Kennedy as the leader of Lucasfilm. The movie remained alive as recently as May 2022, when screenwriter Michael Waldron (“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”) told Variety that he’d started working on a “Star Wars” screenplay for Feige. “I’m enjoying having the freedom on that to do something that’s not necessarily a sequel or anything,” Waldron said.

Five months later, Feige hired Waldron to write the script for 2026’s “Avengers: Secret Wars,” the “Endgame”-style culmination of Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga. Between that project and the 19 other titles (and counting) that Marvel’s announced for theaters and streaming in the next four years, Feige’s responsibilities to the MCU are keeping him far, far away from “Star Wars” for much of the decade."

The only one I was interested in was the one by Taika Waititi so glad to see that one is still being developed.

Lasted rumour is he's going to star in it...

He's a wrong fit for Star Wars because he won't take the material seriously enough.

After that last Thor movie, I doubt they will let him make a Star Wars.

It wouldn't be Star Wars if Kennedy wasn't announcing things that will just get canceled. Its almost funny how incompetent Kennedy has been handling the franchise. And even funnier that Disneys let it happen.

There was an interview with him and he talked about the tone of star wars. I think he understands that you need to take the material seriously. Unfortunately after love and thunder I'm not sure he would actually do that. I think if he could control himself, or if he had someone to keep him in check, he could make a cool movie. But that's a big what if.

She's the one approving the directors for all the successful D+ series.

Ok? That doesn't change the fact that the amount of movies that have been canceled, is greater than what has actually released. And before you say, well better to recognize something isn't working..... The franchise is ruderless outside of D+ tv. So even if they announce something at celebration, I wouldn't be confident it comes to actually release.

I know they made back the 4 billion dollars invested in the purchase of Lucasfilm, but I have to think they expected to make much, much mor in net revenue than they have. Have to think the successful D+ Lucasfilm series have been so in spite of Kennedy, hardly because of Kennedy. I eagerly await to see how Indiana Jones performs and do hope she is truly out after that.

I'm not so sure they have. At least not on the films. They spent over 1.3 billion combined on the production budgets of the 5 films. So by most standards for major tentpole films, they would have needed just over 4 billion in box office. Disney star wars did just over about 5.7 billion. That's only around 1.5 billion in profit. That leaves a lot to be made up in merchandise licenses.

More gross revenue, a lot less profit according to my spreadsheet...

Then there's $2B spent on two SWGEs in the parks...
