kali river rapids

I've gotten slightly wet to drenched and everything in-between on Kali. I think it's an enjoyable ride, but it is relatively short.

The problem with Kali is that it's only really got two moments of excitement in the whole ride. The geyser at the top of the lift and the drop are really the only exciting parts of the ride. Otherwise, it's just scenery with a couple small splashes.

Here's what I would do to the ride....
- Extend the lift a bit.
- After the lift, keep the geyser and waterfalls, but turn the flume to the left (instead of turning right), and go into a temple. This temple needs AA tigers and bats in it.
- Add more danger to the defrestation scene. Add swinging logs, and more fire.
- After the end of the drop, add waterfalls to the side of the flume, plus one big one which is guaranteed to drench somebody.

This would basically make the ride a minute or two longer, and add much more stuff to it. Ideally I'd kill that stupid logging truck, but Disney wants to send an environmental message with the ride.

I agree that the ride is too short. I think the biggest disappointment is lost potential. The first half of the ride through the drop is great (I agree a bit more fire, logs, etc., but that is a judgment call). I really think this could be extended into an old temple after that could be great. Imagine an old temple with stories of the gods of water or something attacking those that abuse the river and forest. I don't mean make it told, but just a subtle decoration along the walls for people that ride and pay attention. Otherwise, just nice scenery. I think this could have a small lift up as parts of the temple are collapsing followed by a second, small dip and water elements along the way.

I think this has HUGE potential to be expanded, and I think the story could be great. "We uncovered a huge temple along the river, and we will be sending you on a new adventure down uncharted forks." or that the "new fork" is accidentally taken instead of the main river.

I agree... it is pathetic.

It's really such a short ride and you get SOAKED (which I find really uncomfortable unless the heat is killing me), I really don't think its worth the visit unless it is REALLY hot and there is virutally no line.

Kali used to have swinging logs, they were on top of the logging truck. Originally, when you came upon the truck, it would lean over like it was going into the flume then the top two logs swung out over you. It was a nice effect, but of course, and when it broke instead of fixing it correctly they just turned it off. WoW!! They saved a little money. But the show suffers for it. I remember when Show Quality really mattered.

What happeded to the geyser?

On my last visit in late 04 I rode Kali and the Gyser at the top of the lift hill wasn't working,
did they take it out because people were getting too wet
-or-
Is it broken and they decided not to fix it, just like the logging truck in the
de-forestation scene.
