I even start getting sad on my second to last day! We always spend our last day and night at our favorite park, which is MK. We pack our suitcases in the morning so we can have enjoy our last evening without worrying about packing up when we get back to the hotel room....packing makes me so sad! We make sure to ride all of our favorite rides one more time and then we watch Wishes.

You want to have your final day end with a "bang." What DH and I are doing are going to MVMCP on the final day. The next day we'll be on a plane heading towards home.

I know what you mean about the last day being so sad. But, we like to do the Polynesian Luau on our last night. We did this one time and, after that, it just became a habit. I guess it was a good feeling when they sang, "Until We Meet Again" at the end. And, of course, we'd meet again.

I usually spend the second-to-last night in DHS watching Fantasmic!, and then my last night watching IllumiNations (my favorite show). I was there for quite a while on my last trip, so I took it slowly, hung out with the friends I made, but spent the last night on my own to bring it all to a close. It was nice and I can't wait to get back!

This trip the last night we went to MNSSHP (9/14) it was a lot of fun! If we didnt do that I would make sure you have the stuff you want to buy, so when you get home you can't say you forgot something. Also spend time in your favorite park and ride your favorite rides a few times in a row, take your time take in the sights.

I always go to MK last and stay as late as possible, stroll down mainstreet after the crowds are gone. If I know what day/month I am coming back it is much easier for me to leave. Sometimes I trick myself into thinking I'll be back sooner than I know I really will! Silly, I know. We are going at the end of November this year for 6 days and I know when I leave there we won't be going back anytime soon because we have so many obligations. I am going to be doing a lot of creative thinking on December 5th, scheming as to how I get back again! :drevil:

This year we will be spending it in MK. We will have a special dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern celebrating Mom and Dad's 40th wedding anniversary!

We always spend the first and last days of our trip at MK. Our list trip (and then the one we having coming up in the end of March/ early April) our dinner on the last day is at Liberty Tree Tavern. I have a feeling this will become a tradition.

This coming trip, it looks like there will be a Pirate & Princess party on our last day. We have never been to one before, so this should hopefully be an exciting way to end the trip.

Last Day

Ahh yes, the dreaded last day at Disney. It is indeed a sad day but, it's our family tradition to go to each park and ride at least two of our favorite rides. Then we usually spend the evening at DTD with a nice meal somewhere followed by some last minute shopping and sitting on a bench talking about our favorite events/rides/etc. that particular trip. Never leave sad! Always start looking forward to your next visit!

My family and I always stay til closing at the Magic Kingdom on our last day, and catch the fireworks. We actually won't watch the fireworks any other night of our trip, because it's a tradition to see them the last night. :D

We spend our last night deciding where we would like to stay on our next vist. We also like to stay at MK until closing and this year the last thing we did was Philharmagic. That's my new favorite and it seems that just listening to the music of the show makes me happy and planning the next trip then makes it seem less depressing to go home. Also, we take the latest flight home that we can get and spend whatever time we can on our very last day at Epcot.

I've tried any number of ways to end a trip. Two years ago, we were flying home in the evening, and didn't want to hit a park that day. We had lunch at Concourse SteakHouse, rented a boat on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, and then did a loop on each monorail. it was relaxing and gave us a chance to say goodbye. We enjoyed it so much we did it again the following year.

I know exactly what you mean.:(
To combat this feeling of inpending doom we always book our holiday to last over 14 nights. I know it sounds daft but knowing that in the first week you are not just thinking "if we dont do it this week we go home next week". That couple of nights or more extra makes it feel that you have forever to plan.
Also we fly in with Virgin Atlantic and because of the Disney Downtown check in facility on the last day we now seem to challenge ourselves to see how late we can make it last.
We fly back on the 19:40 flight and one year me and the family were still in Blizzard Beach at 18:20 and still swimming and sliding, not forgetting you have to check your hire car back in, I have got on the plane in damp swim shorts and had to change after take-off.
Setting a challenge or making sure your last day is a full activity day and not one were you count the hours to check-in.
Swimming always works for us cuz the bathers dont take up much room in your flight bag when you shower and change for the flight.
Happy Holidays:sohappy:

that seems a bit too close for comfort but we also take advantage on virgin check in we have to watch the parade at magic kingdom before we go and then talk about the next time were coming back:sohappy:
