Just told the kids!

My wife finally allowed me to tell our girls about our next trip this October! I put a deposit down earlier in the year and just paid the balance, so after telling the girls they began discussing ways to save up money for extras and also making a trip calendar! Now my wife is going to get me because they will talk about it every day, but that is the fun part IMHO! (not getting in trouble but the anticipation!!!)

Side note about the Dining Plan: I tried to make some changes to my ADR's and there was nothing avaialbe for what I was trying. BUSY

pressed pennies

That site has some .pdf files with locations!

Have Fun!

Yes, that is one site we use. We also use http://wwwpennycollector.com - it has lists of pressed penny machines around the country. Just search under locations and Florida. You have to look under Kissimee or Orlando - but it will say 'Magic Kingdom" or "Epcot". They also have images of the pennies!! Have fun - we are really excited about this!! :sohappy:

ROFL  Yes, it was his first lesson that all it takes is faith, trust, and pixie dust....and pixie dust is not cheap, my friends!!! :D

I think the pixie dust is made of 24 karat gold...

I think when I have kids I will book things and surprise them 100 or 150 days out. I think that would leave enough time for fun planning projects and building excitement by watching the planning video, etc.

My boys have known about our trip since April. They are counting down the days on a Christmas Advent calendar that my father just found hidden away. He had intended to give it to them at Christmas but forgot. The boys came up with the idea to use it instead of eating all the chocolate at once. Pretty inventive I think. 17 more days for us

17 more days for us too!!! It feels like it won't ever get here. We told my son right after we made the reservations in June. We told him inorder for him to miss a week of school he would have to work really hard in before we went on his schoolwork.
Its like a magic potion!!! He comes in from school and goes right to his homework!!

Yeah! like I said.....I had to sell the kids to get back to Disney!

Actually, I had to keep it a secret because it did not look like we were going to be able to go this year due to other surprises earlier in the year (you all know..dental bills, AC in house to be replaced, etc.) and I did not want to disappoint anyone. So just last week Wannabebelle completed my package and I paid the balance! Also a side note I paid off my loan for that new AC unit in my house as well! COOL! No pun intended...

Not fair to ask after all the careful budgeting discussions, but are you going to MNSSHP? As far as ADR changes, keep trying, things open up all the time.
Have a great trip!

AllEars has a section on ideas to make Epcot more kid friendly. Anyway, there are some neat ideas for some things kids who are missing school could do. Since we home school, school is sort of always going on in one way or another, but her are some neat ideas:

1. Buy some cheap candy from each WS pavillion. We are doing this as a family to sample together. But, some of the candy is cheap enough, they could take some back to share with the class. (like the Japanese rice paper candy in Japan $1 a box)

2. Take a photo in each WS pavillion wearing a hat from that country. A Great Show and Tell!!!

3. Write a question to ask a CM in each WS pavillion about their country, record their answers then share back at school with the class!!

Just some ideas!!! Hurray for WDW!!!

Yes we are going to MNSSHP on Oct 5th! I made all my ADR's way back when I put down my deposit. We got almost everything we wanted including our first time at the Castle for Breakfast. The changes I wanted were just swaping some things around so I am not too dissapointed, but I will take your advice and keep trying. We are going to also be going to Le Cellier for the first time as well as Tony's at MK. This free dining plan really allows us to try new places that we typically could not go to before, especially multiples in the same trip!

Hey Clemson Tigger, what dessert is that a picture of in your avatar?
