Congratulations!:sohappy::sohappy: I agree with unkadug, staying in property is the best. My family's favorite resort is Old Key West.

first off, congratulations!

Before giving some suggestions, let me ask you a few questions first....

Have either/both of you been to WDW before?
Do you have a preference of parks or will you want to visit all?

What kind of budget do you have for your honeymoon (not dollar amount, but indicate real tight, moderate, flexible)

How long will you be staying?

What kind of things do you like?

What will you be interested in as far as dining? are you adventurous, do you like a wide variety of foods?

Look here to get an idea of what is offered for lodging:

We can discuss dining and activities later....

Two other things to consider...if you are not that familiar with WDW, it would be a good idea to pick up one or two of the available tour books to help you with planning, Birnbaums or Unofficial Guide are two popular ones.

Second...if you are not that familiar with all WDW has to offer, consider contacting Kingdom Konsultants to help make your arrangements for you. They are great friends of this site and many of us here use them. It doesn't cost you anything for their services, and they do a great job of getting you the most for the best value. You can find them here:

Congratulations! I agree with the others... on property is the way to go! :animwink: Maybe you should stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with a safari view, or if you like camping or wilderness themed places, there's Fort Wilderness buildings and camping sites, and there's Wilderness Lodge. If you want a Hawaiin theme, there's the Polynesian. If you want a really special hotel, but expensive unforunately, you can make a reservation at the Grand Floridian.

our park preferance is MK and we love to try something new i.e adventures and also food.

thanks

Hi Congrats

Congratulations to you both! :)
In my opinion if your budget can afford it, stay on Disney Property and stay at a moderate or deluxe resort is the best bet for sure. :)
My husband and I stood at a Disney Hotel for our honeymoon and it was awesome. You can also go to Disneyflorist.com in case you want a surprise in your room (after you book your stay/hotel room) give them a call they have so much stuff to make your honeymoon that much more speacial like the in room celebration its so great! Oh yes and also get your special buttons that say Just Married! :)
Take care Tinkerchelli

Congratulations!! :)

No matter where you stay - you will have a blast, because nothing beats a Disney honeymoon! That said, the best thing to do is get a Disney guidebook and read about every resort. Decide what factors are most important to you: price, theme, restaurants, proximity to parks, etc.

We chose the Polynesian because we love the theme, and the restaurants. We liked laying on the beach to watch the fireworks. We also preferred being on the monorail line. The downfall of it was it's expense.

For our anniversary, we are staying at The Boardwalk Villas and I'm very excited about that. It seems like a very romantic place to walk around at at night, with all the lights. You can walk into Epcot or Hollywood Studios so the location is great. You're not short of any great places to eat. Plus it's a little less than the Poly since it's not on the monorail. (I think it technically is though, if you have a hopper, because you can walk into Epcot & jump on it).

So those are my two picks! But again, it depends on all the factors that are important to you. Have a wonderful honeymoon

Congratulations, on you up coming wedding. I actually proposed to my wife in the magic kingdom with th castle as a back drop. We would stay at the Polynesian. It is a wonderfully romantic and relaxing atmosphere. We'll worth it.

Congratulations!! There is nothing better than a WDW honeymoon! DH and I stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and loved it. But like others have said, the most important thing is staying on property, as it makes everything quite easy. Hope you enjoy your upcoming trip and good luck with the wedding and honeymoon planning!

Congrats!!!

We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort for our 6/2000 honeymoon. First firgure out what your budget is... b/c if its not a big issue, then find what you think you'll like best. Since you think you might be there for about 2 wks, you're sure to be able to see most/all of Disney. I think its great to have your son in the mix.... but maybe try to have a few days of just the two of you time... :)

Congrats!

My fiance and I have stayed at the Animal Kingdom Villas and it was amazing. The Jiko restaurant is one of the best in the parks.

A savannah view room at DAK, you will all love having breakfast while watching the animals from your balcony...
OR a lagoon view room at BC would mean very easy walking/boat access to Epcot, DHS and the Boardwalk, and the pool is fab for children.

I think it mainly depends on the theme you want. If you guys both like animals or the wilderness or something like that, it'll vairy where YOU guys should stay because ultimately its you guys that will have to go on this (no matter what advice you get), so you have to get your interests as a couple in order 1st and foremost.

That being said you have a year and a half to save, so if money isnt an option, and your just looking on what you think would be the most ROMANTIC get-away, my money's on grand floridian. It was made for weddings, the main frame is all honeymoon suites! So if that sounds what you guys are looking for, then go for it, but make sure to talk to your g/f, its gonna matter to her MUCH more then it'll end up meaning to you so if you dont wanna be reminded 15 years down the road that you picked the worst honeymoon spot, get her input and make the plans with her. You might think it really matters where you go now, but when your up there, chillin on the bed, getting ready to throw the frisbee, your not gonna care whats around you.....but she will

Congratulations! I'm about to have my Disney Honeymoon in a month. We are staying at the Polynesian. I would suggest that resort if you can afford it.
