Just Got back

Hi all. My family and I just got back today and had a blast. We stayed at all stars movies and got a ground level room, right outside of Andy's room in the Toy Story Section. My DS, 2yr old was in heaven..

I am too tired to post a trip report. Will post one in a couple of days.

Soarin was incredible and we did the child swap and only waited about 15 mins. My DH and I also did Everest and did child swap, single rider. Again, only 15 mins. I must admit Everest was fun, but a little bit of a letdown with all the hype about it.

Mickey's Philharmagic....(sp:?) was awesome.

This was my son's first visit and He loved meeting Mickey and friends, woody an friends, but would not hug Pooh and friends. He did great on all of the rides. Just did not like the part in Journey Into Imagination where they have the skunk smell and there is a huge blast. He got a little scared. Same with the Philharmagic show, big vacuum that sucked Donald in, maybe him shake for a second til it stopped. I think his favorite ride was Disney's Playhhouse Live...

Oh well, back to civilization. Sorry for any spelling errors. A litle bit tired..off to bed

Wow, sounds like you had a great time! I think it's wonderful that parents can actually re-discover the magic of Disney World through their children's eyes. There's nothing more exciting than watching a child meet mickey for the first time, or tell you how wonderful it was going on their favorite ride.

I used to babysit for a little girl who knew I absolutely loved Maleficent. Every time she would go to Disney World she would come back toting about 50 photos of her and Maleficent and tell me just how "spooky" she was in person.

I'm sure it's something your kids definetly won't be forgetting! :sohappy:

Heck, those air blast still scare me a little bit. Having lived in Texas for 8 years I'm starting to like the skunky smell a little bit. :lookaroun

I had visited WDW twice before we brought our son when he was 5. As Ansem said, there is nothing better than seeing your child see Mickey for the first time. My son is now 19, a college freshman, and he still gets the same look when we are on the monorail heading to the MK.

My Vacation

Good Morning all. I will give you brief parts of your trip day by day

Day One:

We flew Southwest and were worried about it being oversold, like you see on the Reality Show, Airline, so we got there super early. We had an hr and 45 minutes to kill. Anyone with a toddler knows that is way too long for a toddler to just sit there. My husband and I took turns walking our DS from window to window to see the planes. He loved the planes. I stood in line for 20 minutes to get a coffee, coke and fries....Burger King....guess they don't understand the concept of fast food:lol:

Having a child under 5 has it benefits. We got to preboard and get a great seat. DS did great on the plane. I had a sippy cup and pacifer for him to help his ears. He loved looking out the window. On a side note, crayons and paper is all you need to entertan a 2 yr old. I brought way TOO MANY toys My poor husband had to lug his big bag of toys around and then we didn't even use them...sorry DH :o

Magical Express was great. We got on the bus right away and off to the resort, ALL Star Movies. DS loved the bus ride. He kept saying, Ready, Drive the Bus, Driver....it was so cute.

When we got to the resort, we met my mom and her husband there. We had adjoining rooms in the Toy Story Section, bottom floor, perfect. When we got to our room, there was luggage lined up all along the wall. None of it was ours....same last name as ours, just not us....We had to call twice to have someone come and get their luggage. We freshened up and off to Chef Mickeys.

DS love the monorail...He kept saying, Chuga, Chuga, Choo Choo...it was too cute. He had just learned the word castle, so he was so excited to see it.

We had about 10 min wait for dinner....dS saw Donald Duck near the sundae bar and took off running. He yelled, Quack Quack, I coming and gave him a great big hug...it was cute. We got our pictures when we first went in and one came out great...My mom bought that for us...thanks Mom:wave:

Dinner was pretty good. DS was too busy waiting for the characters to come around, that he ate nothing...glad he was free. He saw all of the characters twice...

Off the parks for EMH...We didn't get a band and they never asked to see it....forgot about it..

DH was exhausted so we only went on 2 rides....It's a Small Worl,d which DS loved and then Carousel.....did that twice... DH had worked the night shift before we left and had about 2 hrs sleep.....poor DH:snore:

Back to the room...our luggage was there, right ones this time:lol:

DS was too excited to sleep, had slept half the plane ride, so he did not go to sleep til after 12...Having adjoing rooms with mom was great...kept door open ds was able to run back and forth

More later...tomorrow, on to MGM

MGM and Epcot

Day Two:

My mind is a blur and I can not remember exactly in what order we did things. We did the Great Movie Ride, which DS slept throuhg most of it. We did Playhouse Live. DS loved that. He got up and danced a little. There was a little bit of delay in getting the show started as some guests don't get the please make room for everyone and move up...they just sit there like they don't hear anything...big pet peeve of mine. We also rode RNRC as only 15 min wait. My mom and her husband watched DS, while DH and I rode it. It was great as usual, better than Everest..:p :p They took DS to see Eeyore, but he refused to go near him. DS loved meeting Buzz and Woody, too. When he went to meet Jessie, who had no line,,,,,poor Jessie, gets no love:( , DS darted right past her and tried to see Woody first, who had a huge line... It was so funny.

We had 2:30 ressies for Sci Fi and tried to get in early, but they were booked. So we waited a bit and then got in. The food was good and son loves cars, so he had a great time. We asked for 2 cokes and plain milk. We were brought two diet cokes and chocolate milk. So, we told waitress and she just made a face and took our drinks away and brought back 2 cokes. I asked where milk was and she said would be a few mins. Well, 10 mins later and still no milk. Then she came with appetizers and still no milk. I asked, where is milk? My son was cranky and I knew this would calm him down. She said she had to bring out appetizers first. 10 more mins and finally milk...I was peeved. Everytime we would ask our waitress for soemthing, she would bring it, but say nothing when we said Thank You....she was the rudest server we had the whole trip...I was mad that she was getting a 18% tip since we were on the dining plan...she sure as hell did not deserve it..:fork:

We went back to our hotel, to relax a bit and freshen up. Then it was off to Epcot. We rode Spaceship Earth of course, Living with the Land, Journey Into Imagination and saw Club Cool. I tricked my mom's husband into drinking beverly:lol: , but my mom caught on...oh well..

DS loved alll. He was just a little scared with the blast of air in the Journey Ride...My mom and her husband stayed for Illuminations. We didn't want to deal with the crowds with a 2 yr old, so we called it a night and went back to our room for the night...DS love channel 96, I think, where they played the same 4 or 5 old Disney cartoons over and over again....finally, he passed out and was off to sleep:snore:

More tomorrow....day 3 - Magic Kingdom/Downtown Disney

We were on the DDP, and we noticed this with several of our waitstaff. I honestly thing there are some people who look upon the DDP as a way to get out of working hard. That's my opinion of it, at least.

I tricked my son into drinking Beverly this past trip, too! Oh, I wish I had a picture of his face! We ate at Mexico afterwards and he kept asking our waiter if he had ever tried it. It was so funny!

It sounds like you and your family had a great trip! Thanks for sharing!

I totally agree with the waitstaff slacking off for the most part. However, we ate at Tony's Town Square Restaurant the one day on a whim, and we had an incredible waiter Paul who was polite, friendly and efficient...Thank you Paul, wherever you are:wave:

Day 3 Magic Kingdom/DD

Day 3:

We had 9:30 ressies at Crytal Palace. We onlyh had to wait about 10 mins. The food was fabolous. The server was okay. He had a cartoon voice, which was really nice. He would be great for voice overs...I forget his name. The only problem was...after giving server our card to pay for meal, he did not come back for 15 mins. I can't think in what order we did things. We rode the train and got off in ToonTown. We took DS into Minnie's house and he loved it. He hopped up on her armchari and laid down and starting drinking his sippy cup...it was too cute. We met Pluto in the backyard..He wasn't into meetin him too much. He didn;t cry, just wanted to go. We got back on the train and went to Frontierland. We met up with my brother in law who works selling balloons and caricatures (sp?) We talked to him for a bit and then DS fell asleep, so off to haunted mansion He woke up in the middle and was not scared..so that was good. Then, my brother in law had a cariature of him done and he was so good for it...I can not belive he sat still for that long. He colored and looked at books to kill time. They keep disney books there for the kids to read..thought that was nice of them.

LAter, we went and saw Philharmagic and DS would not keep his glasses on. But, he enjoyed it anyways.. He just did not like the part where donald was sucked into the vacuum, with the big gust of wind..

We also waited for Dumbo, and he loved it...line was forever.... We also rode Buzz lightyear..he loved that..we bought the picture, it was too cute...MY DH did space mountain and we rode buzz again. I forgot, we did TTA an Carousel of Progress. DS was not too keen on sitting in the seats, but once he realized the seats moved, he was happier...

I think that was all at the parks...back to hotel for relaxtion and then off to Boma. My mom's s husband bailed on us, so it was just four of us...his lost...DS was not too keen on sitting still. MY DH went to their food court and got him a pizza to eat while we ate. I am a picky eater, had sokme of his pizza, mac and cheese and fries and chicken fingers...went there for DH, he loved the prime rib and soup...I had zebra domes...delicisous...thanks for the tip.

Then we decided to go to Downtown Disney...what a nightmare...did a little bit of shopping..We had rentd a stroller and we had to put a credit card on file in case we walked off with it..250.00 no return fee...

So, you have to standd in line to rent stroller. So, when we went to return, we were standing there for almost 15 mins, with only one person in front of us...then, 2 more people come with strollers and we are still waiting.,So finally, some guys asks can we just leave them here and go...THe lady says of course, you don't need to wait in line...I just lost it..I am tired, it is late, DS is cranky and I said, nice of you to tell us..you din't see all of us standing here...nice ******** customer servife, rippedd up my receipt and threw it on the ground.... Once I calmed down, I picked up my trash and threw it in the trash...I am a very calm person, it takes a lot to push my buttons...I was livid.

anyways, called it a night.....went back to hotel and off to la la lan...son fell asleep early...for once....:snore:

More later......Epcot/pool

Epcot/pool

Day 4: Epcot/Pool

The night before we had cancelled two of our ressies and son was not doing too well being good for them. We cancelled Biergarten and Donald's Breakfastsaurus...we had done biergarten before, but will have to try donald's next time. I misunderstood the dining plan. We were there for 5 nights, six days. I thought we got a total of 12 snacks, sit downs and counter services. The guy at the front desk explained it went by nights, not days...my bad. so, we had booked too many ressies. After we cancelled two, we got one at Tony's town Sqaure Restaurant for dinner, wednesday night...will tell more later.

That day DH went and got breakfast from the food court and brough it back to the room. Someone had suggested doing that to save time...thanks wherever you are. after breakfast, we went to Epcot. We went right to Soarin and got fast passes. We had an hour to kill, so we walked from one side of the countries to the other end in under an hr..., and on to soarin. Son, too short, so I got to go first.....It was incredible. All the special smells were so cool. I loved the fireworks at the end. I had a man and his wife sitting next to us. as soon as we lifted off, she started freakin out....I wanted to stick a muzzle in her mouth.... It is not that scary. Then, it was husband's turn to go on. Son was getting a little restless on the bench outside, when I discovered I had a box of crayons in the my backpack....just no paper.....Those park maps sure come in handy.....he colored til dh was done.....

Then, DH went to Mission space and ds and I just walked around for a bit. He said it was fun, not too bad. I was too chicken. Then, we decided to do Journey into Imagination again and it was fun, again...

Then, back to hotel to freshen up and relax. Son fell alseep on the bus on the way back to the hotel, bonus. after we all rested, it was on to Magic Kingdom. We had 5:35 ressies for Tony's and we only had to wait 5 minutes. DS enjoyed watchin cartoons on the tv in the lobby with the other kids. I had spaghetti and meat balls and I forget what dH had. Son, had pizza....go figure. For dessert, son had ice cream and I had amaretto cheesecake...I am probably going to hear about my next comment, but the cheesecake was way better than zebra domes....:sohappy: Our waiter was great.......Thanks Paul...

Then, we walked around a bit and went to tiki Birds...that was a lot of fun. DS loved the funny birds....didn't like thunderstorms too much, but that was over quick. DH had dared me to eat a pat of butter at dinner and I did...he promised me a cotton candy, so went to the confectionary and I got a great big bag of blue cotton candy....yum:D

I don't rememner if we went on anymore rides. After we got back, we finally decided to go the pool. DS had a blast...he called it the big bath (he is 2). The only complaint I had was people were having catch with tennis balls and they almost hit us a few times. I thought that was against the pool rules, no balls, frisbees, tubes, etc....am I wrong?:veryconfu

It was getting late, so we took son out of big pool and into baby pool and then into sprinklers. Finally, we had to drag him back the room, kicking and screaming bloody murder.....he went on for 45 mins.......He had never thrown a tantrum like that before..20 mins, before we could get his suit off and another 20 for diaper and pj..finally just stopped when he realized we were not going to give in....put on his cartoons and gave him a warm cup of milk and he finally relaxed. sorry neighbor, whoever you were. No more pool rest of trip.

off to sleep,:snore:

Playground, arcade, and animal kingdom tomorrow...day 5
