We just got back from our trip at Disney World. We stayed at Old Key West and had a great time. I loved the island theme and Oliva's was excellent for breakfeast and dinner.

We took a boat ride to our home resort SSR to see the changes.

We stopped by the DVC desk at SSR and spoke with the REP about AKLV.
She said the reason they chose AKL for the next DVC was because Four Seasons was building a large resort next to Animal Kingdom. Disney also plans on doing more with that end of the development. One plan is to build another Down Town Disney next to AKLV. I asked if that would hurt the one next to SSR and she said she wasn't sure.

We asked about the DVC rumor at the Contemporary and she said that the rumor was around before they built SSR. She believes because of Four Seasons being built that there will be more of a focus with AKL.

We asked if anything more was going to be added to SSR. She said no, the intent of SSR was to make it a quiet relaxing resort. I told her that it seems that DVC achived that goal because not much was happenning when we were there. I also asked if they were going to add boat rentals at SSR and she said no.


This is only one Rep's opinion, but it sounds like there is more to come at AKLV.

I hope they keep SSR just like it is. We love it and I wouldnt change a thing. I miss it. It will be next summer before we get back there. We do plan on stopping by there on the one day we will be on property prior to our cruise. I just wanna see it.....Its the best investment we have ever made!:lol: :lol:

The only thing I'd want to add to SSR are more restaurants.

That's pretty exciting and another plus for owning at AKV. I'd like to add that none of the pictures we have seen of the AKV rooms on the net do them justice. We visited the sales center last week and the rooms are beautiful. We can't wait until our first stay on Sept 1.

BTW, we are extremely happy with SSR too. I think it is becoming very popular as there are time when rooms are sold out. And that never used to be the case.
