Just Got Back - May 9-16!!!

We just got back today from an EXCELLENT week!!! I just want to say that I don't know how those who go to WDW in the summer can do it!!! It was hot as Hades!!!:fork:

On a lighter note, though, crowds weren't that bad. We walked right up to almost every ride, except for Toy Story Mania (which was a BLAST!!!). That wait was 30 minutes.

We stayed at AllStar Sports and I don't think I'd do that again. It was a very crowded resort and after the first 2 days, I got really sick of teenagers!! And they weren't with us!

Overall, it was a great trip. Ate too much, spent too much, walked too much (we walked 62.2 miles over 6 days), came home with too much!!!

Now I start planning for my trip for next year!!!:lookaroun

I was just there for a mini trip 10th-13th. I agree with the heat issue. I've gone before in May and it was nothing like that!

Now I'm back in the high 50s-high 60s and it feels cold. :dazzle:

Strange how I still wish we could have stayed longer, even though there were points during the trip when I thought I would die by melting. :)

Glad you had a great time! I agree, it does get soooo hot after April-May. And truly, it is the humidity that kills you. We went in June the first time back in 2007, ever since then we've made it our goal to hit times of the year when the heat and the crowds are lower. Thankfully there are so many indoor attractions. And there's always the Water Parks!! And I'm surprised to hear the crowds weren't bad yet, that you didn't have to wait much, that's awesome!

Also just got back

I was also there May 9-16th.....
Hot Hot Hot.....First Afternoon, we were at Animal Kingdom, and it was 97 Degrees!!!!!! Thought I was gonna die and I am from Arkansas where 100's are common in the summer. It just felt hotter than that, just haven't worked up to the heat yet.
I have to say that I was a little suprised by the crowds. I have seen several posts on here about them being light. That was not my experience....I thought it was busy as all get out. Now granted, I usually go in September when you never wait more than 15 minutes for anything including Soarin. It was so busy this time, I didn't even get to ride it! I had to pick and choose my attractions because we were traveling with a 17 month old, who doesnt appreciate having to wait for anything so maybe my sense was skewed slightly. I think the Unofficial guide was right in changing there crowd calender from 5-6's to 7-9's! The good news is that I think the Buy 4 get 3 promo has really paid off for Disney, cause no matter how you get em there...we are all gonna buy over priced water and Ice Cream.
I loved my trip and cant wait to go back...Think I will wait till jr is a little older though. I think it was tough on the little guy!

PS I went to US and IOA one day by myself and did everything I wanted in Both parks, some rides up to 3 times in less than 8 hours. Everything was walk on.....Hulk had 0 min wait times everytime I went on!

We were also at Animal Kingdom on Sunday, but we must have hit the lines at different times, because we hardly had any wait on any of the lines. Except for Dinosaur. It was a 20 minute line.

We have gone in October before and had longer lines then. I was pleasantly surprised this trip. Although it was hot, we did not experience many long waits. I'll just book future trips (already have one in the works!) for the fall or before Christmas!!!
