Just Got Back...Crowded for Oct.

We just got back last night and am i tired. I got to work this morning and i'm pretty busy so I'll try to hit some highlights and give a better report tonight with some pics.

First of all, we were there from Oct 4 - 12. We have been in Oct the last 3 years and this was definately the most crowded i've seen it. In the past, wait times maxed out at 20-30 minutes but some rides this time were 60-120 minutes. Some of this was due to rehab like ToT (was running only 1 elevator shaft, Sat p.m. wait time was 120 minutes, thank goodness for FP). M:S had a 90 min wait Sat also.

Did MNSSHP Sun night and it was great as always. Kids had a ball. Hope to put up some pics tonite.

Mickey's Philharmagic: one word: AWESOME. Best 3-D show ever. The large screen makes it great and of course, Donald steals the show.

M:S: Great ride. The technology is great and the sensations are intense. I know this has been described in detail but you have to ride it yourself to get the full experience.

Lots and lots of media stuff going on as you read from the reports on the main page. I'm sure this affected attendence also. BTW, we went to see "Wishes" thurs night at MK and "wished" we would have waited another night. Since Epcot closed at 3:00 due to the media event, they gave people who had "1 Day" tickets, free passes to MK. MK was the most crowded i've have ever seen. But anyway, Wishes was an awesome fireworks show, definately the best so far.

Besides the crowds, it was a great trip. Glad to be able to do some new rides and shows.

If anyone has questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

Good mini trip report!!

I'm kind of glad that it was busier than you're used to for October. It's always good to hear that even during the "slow season" that it can be busy. Good for tourism, and more $$ for the beloved CMs. :D

Can't wait to see your pictures!

I agree completely. Hopefully this will be good for the travel industry. Also, hopefully this could mean increase in park hours, etc.

We were there Sept 20-29 and also noticed it was busier than the last two years at the same time. We thought we were definitely spoiled in previous years...no lines for anything and this year we had to wait several times. Its still definitely worth it!

Sounds like you had a great time despite the extra traffic!

I also noticed how busy it was!
The TOT was running two trips to the twilight zone and the lines reached to 60 min, FP was out and this was on a thursday!!! Epcot had up to 30 minute waits and i can tell you this I will NEVER come back to MK on saturday!!! Spectro isn't worth it! The lines were long as if it was a summer day! Even IASW had 40 min!!! At least at MNSSHP only up to 5 minute waits!!!

But at least this means more rides for us guests!

I have read a couple of times about media events at Disney. We are going in November, will it affect the parks then? Also what are these media events

Cheers

I know. That blew me away. Even Pooh, Snow White, and Peter Pan had 30 - 60 min waits.

Don't get me wrong. We had a great time even though we didn't ride as much. We got in alot of MK rides during the MNSSHP.

Ahh yes, the classic characters still bring them in. My kids love them.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I saw something I had never seen before. Splash Mountain was shut down due to a malfucntion. When it restarted, there was not any water coming down the hill, just the logs without water. Definately takes away from the effect.
