I'm super excited! This trip will include my husband, six year old daughter, and myself. It will be the second trip for my daughter, last one was May 2013, and we only went to MK, though we spent two days there. We plan to do that again, but with additional days at the other parks too.
I've planned around the Halloween parties at MK, since we're not doing that, and scheduled my ADR's. I want to fast pass BOG for lunch, but it's either not opened up for our dates yet or full, so I'll keep checking.
Our fast pass + opens up for reservations in early August, so that's on the calendar.
We're driving so no travel details to worry with at this point. Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something? Also, free dining landed us at Coronado Springs, so I'm researching the resort a bit since it's new to us.
All tips and advice are welcome! :)

So just found this post about the goodies at CSR and this helps my excitement level about the resort...a lot!

In the spotlight...Coronado Springs...

As some of you may know, Coronado does their own cakes and aren't affiliated with any of the other big Disney resort bakeries. On page 1, I noted the following flavor options at CSR: chocolate with chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake, carrot cake (with 72 hours’ notice), mixed berry, and Oreo cookie. Well, many of these cake flavors are also available at the CSR quick service in single portion servings. The pics below are single serving options of the Oreo cookie cake, chocolate with chocolate mousse cake, and the strawberry shortcake. It is kind of interesting since these are not flavor options for custom cakes at any of the other Disney resorts + you could always buy a few pieces to taste test if you were on the fence about cake flavors for a cake at CSR.

POFQ/PORS Clarification...

Page 1 notes that cakes are done through the Boardwalk Bakery and can be picked up at the restaurant or food court at your resort. I recently got some clarification on this and wanted to share...

1. While the cake would be made by the Boardwalk Bakery, you will need to order the cake through PORS/POFQ's cake line (407-934-5822) if you need it delivered to your resort. i.e. you cannot put your order in directly with the Boardwalk Bakery.

2. You also have the option of having the cake delivered to your resort room. So, you don't need to go out of your way to pick up your cake if you're staying at PORS/POFQ and want your cake at the resort.

Just curious but why wouldn't you want to try the Halloween parties? Your six year old would love it. I've gone now for four years straight with my girls and it's still their favorite day at magic kingdom. Also, you will be able to walk on the 7DMT as many times as u want.

I love going in October. Weather usually is pleasant, the crowds are very manageable and I enjoy the Eat to the Beat series at Epcot. Seen Go-Gos,Starship and Sugar Ray last 2 years and hoping to see some good acts this yeat. I will be there 10/1 to 10/14

Reservations (ADRs) opened up for you 180 days out, so make any reservations you might want (fun!!). Keep trying BOG, ressies can open up, or try for a lunch BOG FP. There is a separate site for the FP and it does not count toward your 3.

So so so so excited for you!! Friends of ours stayed at Coronado and loved it! Can't wait to hear about what you are planning :)

We would love to do the Halloween party, but we squeezed this trip in our budget and really can't add anything extra! I'm super excited about the Mine Train and hope to get fast passes for Anna & Elsa, and my daughter has only ever been to the MK, so we've got plenty to be excited about.

October is a great time to go. Epcot is doing the Food and Wine Festival in October. It is a great thing to try. It is one of the reasons we are coming down in October. If you don't plan on going, then try to avoid Epcot Friday-Sunday. Over the weekend it will get very crowded with vacationers and locals. Have a great time!

I'm excited for you! Just being in MK when it's all decked out in fall décor feels amazing!
