Just booked a room at Seralago...

Has anyone stayed at the Seralago lately? I did a search on here and the last post about it was a year ago. After a lot of research trying to find the best hotel or motel within my budget, with good shuttle service to the parks, I booked an airfare and hotel package last night on Priceline, including five nights at Seralago. Their shuttle schedule seemed like one of the better ones I found, plus it's right on the Lynx 56 bus route and also next to Old Town, so I'll have something to do after I check into the hotel, since I won't hit up Disney until the next morning. Reviews on various sites are generally favorable, but I just wanted to see if anyone on these boards had stayed there within the past year.

Thanks in advance. :)

Seralago Hotel is an older hotel, but it is clean. You are also in a safer area of Kissimmee, but all of the doors are exterior. I would upgrade to a Pool View Room (for just a few more dollars) to face the inside of the courtyard instead of the exterior of the buildings - just a little safer.

You are also very close to a lot of restaurants and even entertainment at Old Town. However, I would still travel with a group in the evening hours.

The transportation is a scheduled shuttle, so they go 3-4 times in the morning and 3-4 times in the evening. You do have to plan your day around the pick up times. Be careful with the last shuttle of the evening. I have heard guests that took the last shuttle were not able to board, because the bus was full and then had to take a taxi home. The last shuttle is always the busiest.

For the price, you can't beat this hotel. Have fun!

Thanks for your feedback. :) One great thing about the Seralago, from what I can tell, is that the #56 Lynx bus runs practically from its front door straight to the Transportation & Ticket Center and vice-versa, so if the shuttle doesn't work out for some reason, at least there's a convenient back-up plan.

Haven't stayed at the Seralago for about seven years, but it was always one of my favorites. Actually keep meaning to try it again - service was always great there and despite the age of the hotel, it has been kept up well. Actually I stayed the frequently as a kid way back when it was Holiday Inn Maingate East and the last time we stayed the buildings were in pretty well as good as shape as it was then.

I used to stay there all the time with my parents too when I was a lot younger. We stayed there 1 night 2 years ago and I don't think it had been updated in many years. It really was run down, IMO. It was interesting to be there again after all these years, but I'm glad it was only for 1 night and we didn't pay much.

It a pretty old place but it is not in bad shape. The place has been painted and has a whole different look and feel from when it was the Holiday Inn a few years back.

It is situated near Old Town and lots to do within walking distance. Lots of places to eat also.

I am shuttle bus will get you to Disney with no problem.

Little tidbit. I have been past there many times since the new name. After a few years I finally figured out why it is called the Seralago, that's the name of the street. hahaha.

I was intrigued by the low price after reading this thread. I read the reviews on trip advisor. For me there are just way too many horrible reviews. Almost all of them say mildew, musty, smelly rooms. Quite a few reports of bedbugs. I will not chance staying there based on the many negative reviews!

We stayed there back in March. This was the 4th or 5th time I have stayed there over the years. It was fine. It could use some work, it hasn't changed much in the last few years. It has always been just an inexpensive, clean place to lay your head at night. I don't spend much time in my room, we just need somewhere to crash at night, and Seralago has always worked well for that. I will probably stay there again next trip.

Good detective work, mickeymatt! That's what I always do before booking hotels-read the reviews on TripAdvisor!
Don't be fooled by the cheap price of this hotel. It's a big red flag, because most budget hotels usually are run-down and old. Before I was born, my parents made the unfortunate mistake of booking a Days Inn near Disney due to rooms being sold out which they saw in a travel brochure- it showed a nice-looking room that looked fairy clean and new, but when my parents arrived, they determined that the brochure was from the 70's because-the room was dirty and had bedbugs in it! The next day, they canceled the reservation and stayed at Dixie Landings instead, and this was back when there were no computers-so I recommend staying at one of the AllStar resorts instead!
